Last Friday, our team gathered at BongoHive Coworking for our monthly staff meeting.

We spent time unpacking systems thinking and, more importantly, looking at how we can put it into practice in the way we work every day.

We also took a critical look at our use of AI as an organisation, exploring how we can continue using technology thoughtfully to improve our effectiveness and the way we work.

Then we wrapped things up the best way we know how: plenty of laughs and some surprisingly serious competition.

Innovation starts with understanding people.

We were delighted to welcome students from Unicaf University to BongoHive for an immersive learning experience, where they gained a deeper understanding of who we are and the work we do to drive innovation, technology, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence (AI), and coworking in Zambia.

The learning didn’t stop there. Students took on a hands-on Human-Centered Design (HCD) challenge using the LEAP Framework, working through a real-world case study to identify hidden challenges, define the root problem, brainstorm impactful solutions, develop an action plan, and pitch their ideas. This practical exercise challenged them to think critically, collaborate, and apply innovation to solve meaningful, human-centered problems.

Thank you to the students and faculty from Unicaf University for spending the morning with us. We hope the experience inspired new ideas, sparked meaningful conversations, and reinforced the power of innovation in creating lasting impact.

Last week, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting Lusaka Toastmasters in our space for an evening packed with powerful speeches, constructive feedback, and incredible energy.

Mastering public speaking isn’t just about stepping up to a podium. It is about honing leadership, pitching ideas with confidence, and learning how to communicate effectively in every area of life.

We love being more than just a place to work. Creating an environment where our community can grow their skills, step out of their comfort zones, and forge meaningful connections is what we are all about.

Last Thursday, we hosted the first Entrepreneurs in Residence session for the Women in Tech Accelerator Programme Cohort 6 at BongoHive coworking space.

This session was dubbed "Alumni Circle," where we were honored to have our past program attendees as our speakers, Evelyn Kaingu (Co-Founder, Lupiya) and Susan Chishimba (Co-Founder, Corelink).

They joined the Top 10 founders for an authentic fireside chat and rotating roundtables, dropping priceless wisdom on resilience, real-world leadership, and navigating the highs and lows of building tech startups in Zambia, as well as sharing practical gems on how to navigate the programme and get the most out of the opportunity.

From deep conversations to impactful networking, the energy in the room was inspiring!

We can't wait to see how our Cohort 6 founders apply these insights into action.
