TAX AMNESTY DEADLINE EXTENSION

The Minister of Finance announced on Friday that the Government have extended the tax amnesty program by three (3) months. The amnesty program was scheduled to end on 31st March 2023 but has now been extended to end on 30th June 2023.

Third Quarter Provisional Tax Reminder

If there are any significant changes in the estimated profit for the 2022 charge year, the deadline to revise the provisional tax return is the 30th of September.

If no significant changes are expected to the estimated profit, payment based on the original return will have to be made on or before 10th October 2022.

If you are a landlord and are registered for Turnover Tax (TOT), the above post is an illustration on how to file the return.

For landlords with turnover below K800,000 - Under income code, select 'RENTAL ANNUAL TURNOVER BELOW OR EQUAL TO K800,000'. The tax rate of 4% will automatically appear and will be used to calculate the monthly amount payable.

For landlords with turnover above K800,000 - Under income code, select 'RENTAL ANNUAL TURNOVER ABOVE K800,000'. The tax rate of 12.5% will automatically appear and will be used to calculate the monthly amount payable.
