A throwback!
On May 6th, the Business Regulatory Review Agency (BRRA) launched the Solwezi Regulatory Services Center (SRSC) at the Solwezi Municipal Council in the heart of Solwezi township. The opening of the SRSC was the sixth of its kind in Zambia, and the first in North-Western Province.
We, at Dial Direct, had the honor of supporting the facilitation of this function. Our Lead Consultant, Pen Chabwela, was selected to be director of the programs. With 16 years of work experience and formal knowledge of Trade Policy and Law, Pen has a deep understanding of Regulatory Service Centers (RSCs), their importance in trade growth, as well as the magnitude of opening such an integral facility in Solwezi, along the Lobito corridor. Pen’s experience in Private Sector Development makes him conversant in Business Environment Enhancement; the ideal translator of the benefits of an RSC to business owners in the region.
In his capable hands, the launch of the SRSC was done in the presence of several dignitaries including the CEO of BRRA, Sharon Sichilongo, The Minister of North-Western Province Hon. Nathaniel Mubukwanu, and the Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry Hon. Christopher Yaluma.
The development of Solwezi is moving at an impressive pace. This growth requires Solwezi to absorb economic activities, which is why the launch of the SRSC was vital and timely for the improvement of the business environment through an efficient regulatory clearance system.
The SRSCs core function will be to facilitate essential services offered by the participating regulatory agencies under one roof, thus reducing time, compliance costs and inconvenience incurred by interested parties.
Dial Direct pledges to continue supporting the private sector, the BRRA, the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry and development partners, as we all work together towards an enhanced Zambian business environment!
