Prayer Is Good, But Sacrifice Is Better

Scripture:
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." Romans 12:1

Devotion
Prayer is one of the greatest privileges God has given to His children. Through prayer we commune with God, receive direction, and access His grace. Yet, throughout Scripture, we discover that genuine prayer is most powerful when it is accompanied by sacrifice. Sacrifice demonstrates the sincerity of our faith, love, and commitment to God.

David understood this principle when he declared, "Neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing" (2 Samuel 24:24). True worship always costs something. It may cost your time, comfort, resources, reputation, or personal ambitions. While many people pray for change, few are willing to make the sacrifices that position them for that change.

Jesus Himself is our greatest example. He not only prayed in Gethsemane but also surrendered Himself on the cross. His sacrifice accomplished what words alone could never achieve. Likewise, our prayers gain greater effectiveness when we back them with obedience, generosity, holiness, fasting, service, and complete surrender to God's will.

Ask yourself: What sacrifice is God asking of me today? It could be letting go of a habit, forgiving someone, giving generously, serving faithfully, or dedicating more time to His presence. Prayer opens the door, but sacrifice proves that we are willing to walk through it.

May your life become a living sacrifice that brings glory to God and releases His purpose upon your life.

Declaration
I declare that I am a living sacrifice unto the Lord. My prayers are backed by obedience, faith, and total surrender. I will not withhold from God what belongs to Him. As I honour God with my life and sacrifice, heaven will respond with divine favour, breakthroughs, and uncommon testimonies, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Prayer Point
Father, give me the grace to become a living sacrifice before You. Help me to obey You completely, surrender everything that hinders Your purpose, and back my prayers with a life that honours You. Let every sacrifice I make according to Your will produce lasting fruit and bring glory to Your name, in Jesus' name. Amen.

What a truly humbling and unforgettable experience it was to minister at the Leaders’ Forum during the Grace Impact Conference this past Saturday.

My deepest gratitude goes first to God Almighty for His grace, strength, and faithfulness. I am also sincerely thankful to my father in the faith for trusting me with this opportunity, and to the entire organizing team for their excellence, support, and dedication in making the conference a success.

To everyone who attended, participated, and followed the session, thank you for your presence, encouragement, and hunger to grow. It was a privilege to share, learn, and fellowship with such incredible leaders and aspiring leaders.

May the seeds that were planted continue to bear fruit, and may God raise a generation of leaders who will impact lives and advance His Kingdom.

Today's Devotion 3rd June, 2026

Envy Is For The Weak

Key Scripture:
"A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones." Proverbs 14:30

Devotion:
Envy is a silent destroyer. It shifts your focus from God's purpose for your life to what He is doing in someone else's life. Instead of celebrating others, envy breeds resentment, comparison, and discontentment. The Bible clearly warns that envy is destructive, it weakens the soul and robs us of peace.

Strong believers understand that God has a unique plan and timing for every person. They are confident that what God has ordained for them cannot be taken by another. Rather than being threatened by another person's success, they rejoice with those who rejoice, knowing that the same God who blessed others is able to bless them as well.

When you become consumed with comparison, you lose sight of your own assignment. David did not become king by envying Saul, nor did Joseph fulfill his destiny by competing with his brothers. They trusted God's process, and in due season, God elevated them.

Choose gratitude over comparison. Celebrate the victories of others while diligently pursuing God's purpose for your own life. As you remain faithful, your appointed season of lifting will surely come.

Declaration:
I reject every spirit of envy and comparison. I rejoice in the success of others and remain focused on God's purpose for my life. My heart is filled with gratitude, peace, and contentment. God's timing for my promotion is perfect, and no one can take what He has prepared for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Prayer Point:
Father, deliver me from every spirit of envy, comparison, and jealousy. Give me a grateful heart that celebrates the success of others while faithfully pursuing Your purpose for my life. Strengthen my faith to trust Your perfect timing, and let Your plans for me come to pass, in Jesus' name. Amen.
