I often get asked the question: how are you in compliance, but you studied economics?

Simple. Economics is about minimizing costs because resources are limited. Compliance is a cost. However, not being compliant also has costs.

What you need to know about business registration.

Types of businesses entities you can register
*Sole traders
*Partnerships
*Limited liability companies

-Sole traders are people who work for themselves. The term Sole trader refers to the ownership of the business and despite working themselves they also have employees.

-Partnerships occurs when two/more people decide to run a business together.

-Limited liability companies are incorporated to take advantage of "Limited liability " for their owners (shareholders). This gives an advantage compared to Sole traders and paterners as they are personally responsible for the amounts owned by their businesses ,the shareholders (under Limited liability companies) are only responsible for the amount to be paid for their shares.

Note: Sole traders and Partnerships are not separate entities from their owners while a limited liability company is legally a separate entity from its owners and can issue contracts in company name.
