POSTPONEMENT OF THE YOUNG HR PROFESSIONALS CONFERENCE - 2026

HR TITANS | Mentorship That Transforms

Last Saturday, I had the privilege of sitting under the guidance of Rev. Mr. Sonny Zulu and Madam Miyanda, where we explored one of the most powerful tools for personal and professional growth—Mentorship.

It was more than just a session; it was a moment of reflection, learning, and realignment.

Here are the few key takeaways that stood out:

🔹 Age is not the standard for mentorship — A mentor doesn’t have to be older than you. What truly matters is their knowledge, experience, and the value they bring into your journey.

🔹Authenticity is everything — Mentorship thrives on genuineness. Choose a mentor you can connect with, and as a mentee or mentor, remain true to who you are.

🔹 Accountability is mutual — A successful mentor-mentee relationship requires commitment and responsibility from both sides.

🔹 Mentorship is not financial support — Your mentor is there to guide, challenge, and grow you—not to fund your life. Understanding this creates healthy and purposeful relationships.

Moments like these remind us that growth happens in the right rooms—rooms filled with wisdom, experience, and intentional conversations.

And that’s exactly what we are creating — The Young HR Professionals conference

KNOWLEDGE OVER PUNISHMENT

Last week, I was tasked by the Manager to discipline a department due to poor quality output. However, after conducting thorough investigations, I discovered that the real issue was not negligence or incompetence—but a lack of proper shift handovers and ineffective communication.

Instead of rushing into disciplinary action, I chose a different approach: Training.

Following the training session yesterday, the transformation was evident. The team became more engaged, openly shared their challenges, and took accountability for their mistakes. This created a platform for honest dialogue and collective problem-solving.

Afterward, I engaged the Manager in a constructive discussion on practical strategies to address the identified gaps and improve overall performance.

This experience reinforced a critical lesson:
Employees do not always underperform due to incompetence. Often, the root causes lie in poor communication, lack of teamwork, or inadequate tools and machinery.

As leaders and employers, we must pause and ask ourselves:

1. Have we equipped our teams with the necessary knowledge?

2. Are the systems and tools in place to support quality performance?

Let us prioritize understanding before punishment, and empowerment before enforcement.

My sincere appreciation to Mr Ronald Sambo and Madam Mwewa K***a for the opportunity to grow and contribute meaningfully to my career journey.

EIN TEAM VISITS - EVELYN HONE COLLEGE AND NIPA

Yesterday marked a significant milestone as I had the privilege of leading the EIN team in a bilateral engagement visit to Evelyn Hone College and NIPA. The purpose of this engagement was to present the upcoming Young HR Professionals Conference—an initiative aimed at equipping students with practical, industry-relevant skills.

We are proud to share that both institutions warmly welcomed the initiative, demonstrating their commitment to professional development. This was further solidified through the successful signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), paving the way for impactful collaboration.

I extend my sincere appreciation to the Presidents and Executive Teams of the Human Resource Management and Public Administration Association at Evelyn Hone College, as well as the Public Administration and Human Resource Management Association at NIPA, for embracing this vision and prioritizing the growth of their students.

Special gratitude goes to the EIN Management for creating such a transformative platform—one that bridges the gap between students, young professionals, and experienced industry leaders.
Gratitude goes to KSM Management Consultants Limited for partnering with us in the implementation of this event.

Together, we are shaping the future of HR.

DID YOU KNOW THAT LEARNING NEVER ENDS?

Growth is a continuous journey. The moment we convince ourselves that the knowledge we have gained is “ENOUGH,” we unknowingly limit our potential. Comfort with our current knowledge or position can quietly stop our progress. Meanwhile, someone else is working tirelessly to improve themselves, learning new skills and preparing to reach that very position. When that moment comes, the change can be sudden and surprising.

At Elevate Impact Network, we strongly believe that continuous learning is the foundation of professional excellence. To support this belief, we create platforms where young professionals can interact with experienced industry leaders, learn from real-life experiences, and gain practical insights that bridge the gap between theory and practice.

It is with great excitement that we invite you to The YOUNG HR PROFESSIONALS CONFERENCE, which will be held on 25th April under the theme:
“THE MAKING OF A REAL HR PROFESSIONAL.”

This conference will bring together experienced HR practitioners who will address participants on real Human Resource challenges, practical industry expectations, and the competencies required to thrive as a professional in today’s dynamic workplace.

If you are passionate about building a meaningful career in HR, BA or PA, this platform is designed for you.

For more details, kindly check the flyer below or contact the number provided on the flyer for further information.

YOU ARE ALL INVITED.
Let us learn, grow, and elevate together.

SEE YOU IN CLASS.

DID YOU KNOW THAT THERE IS A REAL MISMATCH BETWEEN ACADEMIA AND INDUSTRY?

For a long time, many of us have talked about the gap between ACADEMIA (what we learn in classrooms) and INDUSTRY (what employers actually expect from us). I used to view this conversation from a distance. However, after spending two months working in the industry, I have come to realize that this issue requires serious attention. It is not enough to simply talk about it; we must begin to provide practical solutions.

However, addressing this gap calls for a collective effort from all stakeholders involved: employers, students, student leaders, academic institutions, and industry experts. Each has a role to play in ensuring that graduates are better prepared for the realities of the workplace.

To the STUDENTS: This is the time to intentionally invest in your career. If you desire to be a different kind of fresh graduate, then you must first choose to be a different student. Attend professional seminars, participate in practical trainings, and be willing to invest in your professional growth. Do not wait until you graduate, start building your career now.

On 25th April, we will be hosting a YOUNG HR PROFESSIONALS CONFERENCE, a space designed for learning, networking, and bridging the gap between academia and industry. This is the room you need to be in.

Stay tuned for the official event announcement tomorrow morning.
