Over the years, Aquaquest has been providing cost effective groundwater development solutions and management advice to Clients across Zambia and in neighbouring countries. A notable example of this is the ongoing groundwater supply development at Kaleya Smallholders Company Limited (KASCOL) in Mazabuka. Aquaquest has successfully conducted a feasibility study for the proposed expansion of drip irrigation, carried out hydrogeological and geophysical surveys, and supervised drilling and test pumping activities within different parts of the farm. So far, 9 high yielding boreholes have been developed under Aquaquest’s guidance and supervision, improving the vital water supply needed for irrigation. By enabling a transition from surface water dependency to an improved supply system that is based on combined groundwater and surface water resources, KASCOL is building its resilience at a time of enhanced climate stress.
