Zambia Land Alliance (ZLA) CCentre for Trade Policy and Developmentwith support from the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) and Columbia Centre on Sustainable Investment (CCSI) was in Kamisengo community conducting sensitizations on land rights and provisions of the law for over 200 households being displaced due to investments.

The community members were also sensitized on different income generating activities that they can start to sustain their livelihoods during and after they are relocated.

The two organizations managed to reach out to 180 (91F / 89M) affected community members earmarked for displacement due to the expansion of Lumwana mine in Kalumbila district.

ZLA and CTPD are implementing a project called Advancing Land-based Investment Governance (ALIGN) in chief Mukumbi and Chief Mumena's chiefdoms in Kalumbila district, chief Kapijimpanga's chiefdom in Solwezi district, chief Shaibila's chiefdom in Mkushi district and chief Muchinda's chiefdom in Serenje district. The project focuses on ensuring responsible and sustainable investments that take into accounts rights of people and sustainable environmental management.
