150 Years From Now

150 years from now, none of us reading this post today will be alive. 70 percent to 100 percent of everything we are fighting over right now will be totally forgotten. Underline the word, TOTALLY.

If we go back memory lane to 150 years before us, that will be 1872, none of those that carried the world on their heads then are alive today. Almost all of us reading this will find it difficult to picture anybody's face of that era.

Pause for a while and imagine how some of them betrayed their relatives and sold them as slaves for a piece of mirror. Some killed family members just for a piece of land or tubers of yam or cowries or for a pinch of salt. Where is the yam, cowries, mirror, or salt that they were using to brag? It may sound funny to us now, but that is how silly we humans are sometimes, especially when it comes to power or trying to be relevant.

I remember those days in my secondary school, how some people fought and did so many unimaginable things just to have their names shortlisted among those to be made school Prefects. Ordinary school Prefects o! It is just about 18 years since I left secondary school, nobody in that school right now remembers that I even schooled there despite my popularity then. Now, imagine what happens after 150 years?

Even when you claim the internet age will preserve your memory, take Michael Jackson as an example. Michael Jackson died in 2009, that was just 13 years ago. Imagine the influence Michael Jackson had all over the world when he was alive. Gosh, he was like a god. How many young people of today remember him with awe, that is if they even know him? In 150 years to come, his name, when mentioned, will not ring any bell to a lot of people. This is even because he was popular, imagine the majority of people who will never be known worldwide like him?

Let us take life easy, nobody will get out of this world alive. . . The land you are fighting and ready to kill for, somebody left that land, the person is dead, rotten, and forgotten. That will also be your fate. In 150 years to come, none of the vehicles or phones we are using today to brag will be relevant. Biko, take life easy!

Let love lead. Be genuinely happy for each other. No malice, no backbiting. No jealousy. No comparison. It is not a competition. At the end of the day, we all have the same destiny in the grave. It is just a question of who gets there first, but surely we will all go there.

That was where Jacob met her for the first time. No sensible man can resist a woman who is beautiful and industrious.

_What made a man worked for 7 years for the woman he loved and yet felt like he just worked for 7 days?_ Value!
*Come to think of this, My man doesn't respect me, might be because I am are not a Value-Added-Woman (VAW).*

*Do you realize that Jacob did not pay Leah's bride price? They gave him Leah as bonus.* _Because she has no value. This was why Jacob had no respect for her and her children, hence he set them as first entourage when he was going to meet his angry brother._ If you force yourself on a man, he may never respect you. If he got you cheaply, he will never respect you. If you are not adding value to his life, he will never respect you.

*Even after marriage, Leah was begging and buying the attention of her own husband.* Rachael was practically in control of Jacob.

*Rachael was a shepherd in the midst of her siblings, a profession meant for men.* _She was in control of her father's business. This was what glued Jacob to her._

*Gen 29:9 Jacob was still talking with them when Rachel arrived with her father’s flock, for she was a shepherd.*

_How can boys be in the house and a girl (last daughter of the house) be the one to tend her father's flock and family business?_ *Industriousness!*

*After Jacob slept with Leah, he still went for Rachael. S*x can't keep a man, value does.*

_Leah had 5 children, Rachael had none, yet Jacob still loved Rachael more than Leah. Having children is good but adding value is better._ *Don't ever think you can pin a man down with children.* If you like give him a nation, if you are not adding value to his life, he will walk away someday.

*I'm pleading with our parents, especially Mothers not to raise their daughters in a way that they will be liabilities to their men/spouses.* Make your daughter a shepherd before her _Jacob arrives._ *Give her a source of livelihood before marriage.* If you want her husband to respect her, give her quality education and a hopeful future. Don't train her merely because of the bride price you want to collect on her head. Laban wasted the bride price he took for his daughter. But he lived on the flock kept my his daughter even after she was married out.

*IS MA********ON AS A SIN?*

This is an interesting subject which unfortunately most Christians don't want to directly confront. I need to say because of shying away from these issues Christians are perceived as *s*x negative* - people who think pleasure is sinful. First i want to say i believe s*x is a *gift from God* which he gave to humanity a gift which finds its best expression within the confines of marriage.
By design we know that the male organ was designed for the female organ. Hence the pleasure from s*x from design was meant to come when there is contact between the two organs.
As young children enter puberty they start to experience secondary s*xual characteristics which include full development of s*xual organs and flourishing of s*xual desire. Suddenly boys discover that they get erections during the day and at night they start experiencing vivid and explicit s*xual dreams. This is normal and natural. This is a physiological sign showing that the body is growing and maturing. "Wet dreams" are therefore the body's natural way of offloading the s*xual tension that would have piled up in a person.

It is true however that at the age of puberty young people may learn from others or from themselves that if they touch and rub their s*xual organs they get aroused and eventually experience or**sm. It is true also that it is believe that most males have once ma******ted at least once in their lives.(and it us understood that those who deny ever having ma******ted are *lying*😜)
This would mean that ma********on is a *common practice* especially in young people though it can be a continued practice in adulthood...

Is this practice *wrong*? Is it a *sin*?

We have huge problems in how we define the words *"wrong"* and *"sin"*. Often people think that if a person says ma********on is a sin they mean that they themselves have *NEVER* done it.. secondly i believe that defining a sin as just "breaking a rule" is too simplistic. This is why many who note that no Bible verses directly address ma********on end up thinking that there is *NOTHING WRONG* with the practice...

*SIN*
Whatever definition you may use for sin, you will discover that fundamentally sin is an infection of the heart(mind) resulting in *selfishness* , *self centeredness* , *rebellion* thus leading to *destructive lifestyles*. All *"sins"* have a clear pattern of what i have just described above. Earlier on we said that s*x by design was meant to be an experience shared by *two people* in a marriage setup. S*x by default was designed as a way in which a person learns how to give pleasure to another while trying as hard as possible to ignore or delay his/her own pleasure. I will explain this.
By design males have a shorter arousal time and get to have an or**sm real quicker than women. This means that if *both*(male and female) should experience or**sm the man has to be so skilled to "delay" his own s*xual excitement while concentrating on ensuring that his wife is aroused before actual thrusting can occur. (Wait do run away! I believe this is an important issue to learn).By design s*x is a *self-sacrificing* experience. If you concentrate on yourself(you the man)...you will sooner reach or**sm and the s*x act for you has reached its finality and your wife leave your wife unsatisfied without achieving or**sm. There are many men who think s*x is just an issue of thrusting up and down and getting an or**sm while the wife is left unsatisfied. The difference in arousal rates between men and women are the checks and balances that are designed to ensure that mutual s*xual pleasure becomes achievable and fulfilling.
Personally i feel s*x for that reason becomes *an act of worship*. A process in which you try to *deny your s*xual pleasures in order to give s*xual pleasure to your wife.* Trying as hard as possible to slow yourself down in order to ensure that you wife is satisfied too. Teaching yourself the principle of *"arriving together"* with your wife.

*Does ma********on bring this picture?*

No. I feel ma********on is a *self-serving endeavor.* You are alone at home, in your bedroom or in the bathroom you take your hand and try to mimic the up and down thrust movement which occurs during real s*x and before you know it your hands are soiled with semen. You are having s*x with yourself. *The picture of worship i described has been distorted.* Its you having a preoccupation with your s*xual organ. Since i believe sin at its root is *selfishnessselfishness and self centeredness* that is how ma********on fits neatly into the picture. You are satisfying yourself.
1. Ma********on oftenly lasts a *vert short time* no matter how much you try prolong it. Remember the pressure is *on your hand* to do the up and down thrust mimic movements with your own hand. However normal s*x relations are a *process* with stages arousal, foreplay , s*xual peak ,or**sm ,recovery etc. In ma********on those "stages" are skipped...you rub yourself very quickly and fast because all you care about at that time is to get an or**sm.
2. Ma********on because of distorting the stages of s*x usually becomes *addictive*. Often those who do it discover that *they can't refrain from touching themselves.* So a simple thing as taking a shower, going to the toilet , dressing up , shaving becomes an irresistible temptation to touch themselves.
3. Often habitual ma*******ors use the practice as way of coping with *boredome, loneliness,frustration, tension ,stress* etc. So instead of directly confronting the issue they resort to ma********on as a way of easing the pain. They have taught themselves that ma********on is a quick *painkiller* to use to numb their pain.
4. There might be a connection between a habitual ma********on and po*******hy use. *Those who watch po*******hy often also ma******te.* They do this to fulfil their s*xual urge which becomes so strong and irresistible when watching po*******hy.
5. Those who ma******te tend to be *depressed.* Its interesting how a practice that we think should elevate the mood ends up *leading to depression*. This is because ma********on often results in feelings of a sense of *guilt* and *shame*. Often people *don't plan* to ma******te. It usually happens at a whim... as a result of poor *impulse control.* Imagine a person seated at home alone...from nowhere comes the urge to touch himself. He tries hard to suppress it and before he knows it he is touching himself. Mentally he wishes to stop but the pleasure he is experiencing makes him to continue rubbing himself more...and before he knows it his hands and trouser are wet, messed with semen. Because this was an unintended consequence the person experiences an *immense sense of guilt and shame* as he goes to the toilet or bathroom to clean up. He didn't want it to end this way, but it did. On a personal level they are disappointed with themselves for *failing to control themselves* hence the sense of guilt...while in a normal s*xual relationship there is *full intention* and *consciousness to want to do it* when compared to ma********on.
6. A person who has become a *habitual ma*******or* sooner may develop *premature ej*******on.* Rubing yourself with your hand is often done *faster* than the normal s*xual movements...hence when a ma*******or eventually enters a "real woman" he *loses control* of his excitement(the over stimulated s*xual organ cannot contain the excitement of being in the original thing) and or**sm occurs faster before he even start thrusting...thats the worst situation to have as a man. S*x ends before it starts.

So i would say while ma********on *is common* it will *NEVER* compare to *real s*x....*
I would say also the best benefits of s*x can only be experienced when people *have s*x in God's way.*

Hebrews 13:4
"Let marriage be held in honor (esteemed worthy, precious, of great price, and especially dear) in all things. *And thus let the marriage bed be undefiled (kept undishonored)*; for God will judge and punish the unchaste [all guilty of s*xual vice] and adulterous."

Let us *NOT* defile the marriage bed by ma********ng.

*HOW TO FIGHT MA********ON:*

1. Avoid spending *long periods* in the shower or toilet
2. Avoid taking *too long* washing you private area.
3. Avoid taking *too long* time dressing up
4. Ensure there is *reduced contact* when applying lotion especially to sensitive areas.(take a shorter time doing this)
5. When you feel yourself getting aroused and the temptation coming move quickly out of the house and take a walk.
6.Keep busy - don't allow yourself to have "free time". Structure daily activities to avoid an episode with nothing meaningful to do.
7. Find a hobby- something do direct one's s*xual energy to. It could be starting a new sport etc.
8. Its important to find someone to open up to. Someone who will be your *accountability partner*. To check on you daily on your progress...to counsel you and pray with you when you fall. This is a person to call when having a strong s*xual urge.
9. Remember to pray and have time for Bible study.

The bigger issue though is to assess one's mind for triggers that causes one to ma******te.
Is it because of watching po*******hy?
Is it because of engaging in s*x talk(which ends up stimulating one s*xually)?
Is it because ma********on has become an escape from *boredom, loneliness, frustration, stress, fear, anxiety and pressure.*
