I wanted to share these reminders today because I, myself, have struggled with fear of abandonment and it causes me to sometimes self-sabotage relationships. I figured maybe some of you struggle with this, too. When you’ve been disappointed time and again by the significant relationships in your life, it can cause you to build up a defense that actually pushes people away “before they can hurt you.” When you’re feeling those fearful, vulnerable feelings start to rise up, it’s so important to take a step back and say wait a minute. Is this person really trying to disappear from my life, or am I trying to push them out of my life BEFORE they can disappear from it? 99 out of 100 times, it’s the latter. So pause. Breathe. Remind yourself that you are a beautiful soul who is worthy of people who will show up for you and stick around for you. And let go, knowing that the ones who are really meant to be there will always, always come back. And you’ll be okay either way. ❤️
