Over the weekend, our Human Capital team attended an HR breakfast focused on mentorship as a catalyst for intentional growth and development. A consistent message emerged: the right mentor can accelerate learning, expand perspective and help translate ambition into meaningful progress.

Two practical takeaways stood out:

Choose mentors for the value they bring—intellect, experience, exposure and the ability to challenge your thinking—not for public status.

Make mentorship intentional: set clear goals, create structure and build accountability to sustain momentum.

We are taking these insights forward as we continue strengthening a culture of development—where people are supported to learn, grow and lead with confidence.

What has made mentorship most valuable in your career journey?

Driving investment‑ready infrastructure at ZIMEC 2026

PwC Zambia led the Project Finance & Infrastructure Panel themed “Investment Ready: Structuring Innovative Finance Strategies for Resource and Infrastructure Projects”, at ZIMEC 2026 last week.

Moderated by Lyndon Lane‑Poole, Consulting & Risk Services Leader, the discussion focused on unlocking innovative finance, effective PPP models, and risk‑mitigation tools to accelerate bankable projects across Zambia’s mining, energy, and logistics value chains.

The panellists explored how priority infrastructure can be structured, de‑risked, and financed to attract capital - transforming strategic projects across energy, mining, and logistics into bankable, investment‑ready opportunities and executable financing solutions that support sustainable infrastructure development.

Happy Easter from all of us!

This Easter, our people came together for a light‑hearted office Easter Hunt - an experience that sparked laughter, teamwork, and a touch of friendly competition.

Hidden eggs and exciting clues created moments of surprise and shared enjoyment across the office. From golden finds to colourful treats, it was a simple yet meaningful way to pause, connect, and celebrate the season together.

Moments like these remind us that strong teams are built not only through collaboration at work, but also through shared experiences beyond it.

We wish you and your loved ones a joyful and refreshing Easter.

Tax alert: Permanent Voluntary Disclosure Programme - a new era of tax compliance

The Government of Zambia has introduced a permanent Voluntary Disclosure Programme (VDP), effective 1 January 2026, allowing taxpayers to voluntarily disclose previously unreported tax liabilities in exchange for a full waiver of penalties.

The programme covers corporate income tax, transfer pricing, withholding tax, PAYE, and personal income tax - with the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) signalling possible favourable consideration for VAT and Customs disclosures at its discretion.

Why act now? Once ZRA commences an audit, VDP relief may no longer be available. Taxpayers discovered through audit face the full assessment of principal tax, penalties, interest charges, and potential criminal prosecution. The window to disclose voluntarily is narrowing.

On Friday, we proudly celebrated International Women’s Day at Sakae Paradise Resort in Lusaka - an inspiring gathering dedicated to reflection, empowerment, and bold leadership.

We were honoured to have our Partner, Charity Mulenga, as our keynote speaker, alongside powerful contributions from Charity Kabwe (Senior Manager) and Catherine Shawa (Manager).

Our speakers challenged us to dare boldly, embrace change with courage, show up with intention, and remain authentic - regardless of the roles we hold or the rooms we walk into.

The conversations echoed impactful themes:
- Giving without expectation
- Investing in oneself
- Seeking mentorship intentionally
- Stepping forward and being visible

We were reminded that leadership begins with how we lead ourselves and that opportunities meet those who are prepared. Here’s to women who rise with purpose, uplift others generously, and continue paving the way for the generations to come.

Happy International Women’s Day!

Today we honour the women whose courage, brilliance, and leadership continue to shape our communities and our future.

This year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” is a reminder that when we invest in women - through mentorship, advocacy, opportunity and inclusion - we unlock progress for everyone.

Let’s continue to lift as we rise, amplify women’s voices, and create spaces where every woman can thrive, lead, and redefine what’s possible.
