1. It keeps ringing in my head. Personal expenses must be separated from Business financials. Most local Entrepreneurs are still stuck in this vicious cycle of receiving and spending.
2. Funding is available and it starts from looking for it from your friends and family. Sell your vision to people who will believe in you. Yes, the banks will not give you capital if your a start up but there are many other alternatives. Personal Savings, Village Banking groups, Business Incubators like 'Bongo Hive' will be good for Skills Capital and more.
3. To be considered for funding your business structure must be made up. You must be able to show that the business model actually does work, that is show that the model can generate money and sustain the business affairs. So start working on the business model now!
4. Sounds generic but you must believe in yourself. Stop looking at what your neighbour business is doing. Focus on what your heart and your brain is telling you. See it right through to the end.
5. An unfortunate truth is that as Zambia's, we have a poor business attitude when it comes to Business research. We do not read. We do not study insights. We do not know what's happening in our very own business sectors. Knowledge is Power, right! Research and be insightful to the trends, the numbers, the events, the opportunities and more.
