To our LRV8 friends, colleagues and clients
This September, I’ll be attempting a progressive 465km challenge to help a special guy get back on his feet.
A few months ago, our friend and all-round good guy Craig suffered a devastating fall while helping a neighbour - something he’s renowned for in his Bulawayo community. The accident left him with multiple fractures to his spine, foot, and wrist. He’s been bedridden ever since, facing a long road of surgeries and incredibly painful recovery. In a country where medical care is notoriously expensive - and with his insurance depleted and unable to work - he simply cannot access the operations he so desperately needs without financial assistance.
Craig, a self-employed go-getter, has always been active, determined, and deeply involved in his community. Being confined is not just physically painful, it’s likely taking a heavy toll on that incredibly good spirit of his too.
So, with a small dose of his trademark will and determination, I’m taking a shot at a progressive run challenge (which I’m certain will also turn out to be a walk-crawl-whatyoulike challenge along the way) to raise awareness for Craigs fundraiser:
1km on the 1st of September, 2km on the 2nd… all the way to 30km on the 30th.
Totalling 465km over the month. One step at a time, for an amazing guy who longs more than anything to be back on his feet.
If you’re able to support Craig’s recovery, please visit Amy Weller’s main fundraiser page:

Every donation, share, or message of encouragement would truly mean the world to Craig, along with the community who love and respect him deeply.
As for me, I’ll be staying accountable by logging the kilometres on Strava, so feel free to follow along or throw some encouraging banter my way there.
With love and thanks,
Lana
