I was laid off from my previous workplace in May 2022.
So much changed in a short time and with the changes came a lot of uncertainties.
I kept contemplating and imagining having to start job-hunting and sending out my CV all over again.
I realised not too long after that I had no motivation to do that.
Until I chose to correct my perception of the current situation.
I decided that I would make this change an invigorating experience, rather than a terrifying one.
It was around that period that I came across the alx_africa Virtual Assistant Training Programme.
And given its wide spectrum of exciting tech programmes, l decided to try out something new and see where this new path takes me.
I was motivated throughout the training by the realisation that being a VA would expose me to opportunities; like that of sitting at the same table as strategists and visionaries of organisations.
An opportunity that could be a game changer for me and help me scale up my skills fast.
So, whether you are just starting out in your career or you have been in the industry for years, I urge you to never self-sabotage yourself and be open-minded.
Be willing to try something new and you would be surprised by what opportunities you might find.
