The Architect and the Dreamer: Hilda Machando ☁️✨

This women’s month, we are celebrating the visionaries and leaders in our community.

As one of the leaders of the AWS User Group Zimbabwe, IT and Operational Risk Specialist at CABS and the ISACA Harare Chapter SheLeads Tech Chairwoman, Hilda is at the forefront of cloud innovation and security in Zimbabwe.

We were honoured to have her lead the AWS session at our Tech Meet at FlexiWork Workspace (now Digital Meet Bulawayo hosted by FlexiWork Workspace) where she shared expert insights on Cloud Security, Governance, and Risk Management with our students, practitioners and explorers community.

Hilda isn’t just a leader; she’s a builder!

With Big Data Analytics and a deep background in Cloud Architecture, she is a driving force behind the digital transformation we love to see in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and beyond.

This Women’s Month, we asked her to go deeper than the professional credentials and her response reminded us that leadership isn’t just about the titles we hold, but the people we are when the screens go dark.

In Hilda’s words:
“I know my bio talks about my professional achievements, but this month I’m taking time to appreciate who I am as a person. Stripped down, I am a daughter, a ‘forever daddy’s girl,’ and a freshly minted wife.

I am a culmination of the little girl who used to daydream about a future beyond her imagination. That girl is now living those dreams because of the strong women who came before her - women who were always so much more than their roles.

Happy Women’s Month to all the women who make it possible for me to be who I am today. ❤️”
