Yesterday, the Permanent Secretary for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland East Mr Tavabarira Kutamahufa officially opened Chidiya clinic in ward 26, Murewa district.

The clinic, which was constructed using the Constituency Development fund (CDF) and Devolution funds, will benefit 17 villages.

This was a welcome development to the Murewa community as the Second Republic is fulfilling its promise of ensuring a healthy populace by bringing social services to the people. Government continues to prioritise health-care services for its people.

Hurungwe district under the winter wheat programme has contracted over 2525.25 ha with 1651.25 having been planted so far, 648.25ha of which are under the Presidential input scheme.

The district is anticipating a bumper harvest from the programme that will also boost food security up to the next agricultural season. Hurungwe alone has over 250 farmers with each having planted from one to 200 hectares under the winter wheat programme. This year’s season has seen more A1 farmers venturing into winter wheat farming proving the continuous empowerment of local people in taking farming as a business.
