Strengthening the backbone of public accountability.

This Thursday in Harare, ICS Africa Group, together with and partners, convened finance and audit committee members from Zimbabwe's public entities for a corporate governance seminar focused on what truly matters — results for citizens.

The sessions zeroed in on:
✅ Strengthening oversight mechanisms within public entities
✅ Aligning budget priorities with NDS2 and Vision 2030
✅ Ensuring public spending translates into tangible services — clean water, roads, schools, clinics, and housing.

Good governance isn't a compliance exercise. It's the bridge between national plans and the communities they're meant to serve.

Every movement has a starting point. For ICS Africa Group, it was 6 December 2023 at Cresta Lodge Hotel, Harare.

The 2023 Inaugural Corporate Shared Value Awards — themed "Achieving an Upper Middle Income Economy by 2030" — brought together over 45 local companies and organisations across 9 categories, all recognised for doing something remarkable: building business strategies that solve social problems.

At a time when the conversation around corporate responsibility was evolving rapidly, we chose to go further — to celebrate companies that were not just giving back, but economically empowering the communities in which they operate.

That evening marked the beginning of a movement that has since crossed borders, grown in scale, and continues to challenge Zimbabwe's corporate sector to think bigger, act bolder and lead with purpose.
