SHARING EXPERIENCES, STRENGTHENING REGULATORY REFORM:

The National Competitiveness Commission (NCC) engaged the Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency (ZCSA) in a knowledge exchange session focused on Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA).

The discussion explored practical experiences in developing and reviewing regulations, understanding their potential impact on businesses, and using evidence to inform regulatory decisions.

Through engagements such as these, NCC continues to learn from regional experiences and strengthen its approach to regulatory reform, reducing unnecessary regulatory burdens, and improving the ease of doing business.

ADVANCING REGULATORY REFORM THROUGH KNOWLEDGE SHARING:

The National Competitiveness Commission (NCC) engaged Zambia’s Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) in a knowledge exchange session centred on Regulatory Impact Assessments (RIAs).

The discussions focused on practical approaches to assessing the likely effects of proposed regulations, weighing their costs and benefits, and using evidence to inform sound regulatory decisions.

The engagement is part of NCC’s continued efforts to learn from regional experiences, address regulatory challenges, and support reforms that create a more efficient and competitive business environment.

KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE ON REGULATORY IMPACT ASSESSMENTS:

The National Competitiveness Commission (NCC) held a knowledge exchange meeting with Zambia’s Business Regulatory Review Agency (BRRA) to share experiences and strengthen institutional capacity in Regulatory Impact Assessments (RIAs).

The engagement provided an opportunity to learn from Zambia’s experience in assessing the potential costs and benefits of proposed policies, laws and regulations, while exploring approaches to reducing regulatory bottlenecks and the cost of doing business.

Such engagements strengthen evidence-based policymaking and support the development of a more effective, predictable and business-friendly regulatory environment.
