Yesterday, the SMEDCO Gweru Branch participated in a stakeholder engagement held at Touchwood Lodge in Kwekwe, hosted by the National Bakers Association of Zimbabwe (Midlands Chapter).

Together with ZB and FBC, we took part in a panel discussion on funding opportunities for bakeries, creating awareness of SMEDCO’s financial products among bakers across the Midlands Province and beyond. The event was graced by the Guest of Honour, the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Cde. O. Ncube, and attended by key public and private sector stakeholders.

SMEDCO Gweru Branch is participating in the Kwekwe District MSME Outreach Programme, bringing business support services closer to entrepreneurs in Zhombe and Silobela.

The programme focuses on business formalization, compliance, and access to finance, helping MSMEs unlock growth opportunities and build sustainable businesses.

Working alongside Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Dev. , Zibagwe RDC, the Department of Social Services, Zibagwe Councillors, Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training , and the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works , we are strengthening the MSME ecosystem and creating pathways for inclusive economic growth.

Today, the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Hon. Monica Mutsvangwa (Sen), visited the SMEDCO Gazaland Complex, where construction of an additional 47 MSME workspaces is underway.
