Lean In and grow with women who are keen to move forward and achieve their ambitions. Take your seat at the table. Own it. Be present and engaged. Come Join Lean In today.

Lean In is an organisation started by Sheryl Sandberg, (the former COO of Facebook then) to work with women to reach their ambitions. We work with small special interests groups of women - called circles, to support each other in our careers and businesses. It’s a volunteer organisation with over 170000 members in 38 countries offering opportunities for shared experiences with women from different cultures. If interested please join the WhatsApp group and we can chat further.
The beautiful thing is it’s open for everyone to grow so you can introduce it at your workplace, your business, your church, your community.

NB: You will not be enjoy or benefit from Lean In if you are a terrace warmer😄
It’s best suited for women who are ready to “Lean In”, to engage and participate in their community, to own their future and take steps towards achieving their goals and want to do so with the support of women around them cheering them on. Whatever part of the globe you are - join us and enjoy great networking

Collaboration is a key growth and success driver. The days of competing with everyone instead of collaborating with some are long gone.
It is important to distinguish in your industry who is really your competitor and who is a growth enabler for your business. For example as a new entrant you might see your grocery shop as a competitor for a major retailer like Pick n pay.Yet if both of you sit and find a way to collaborate you will find there is room enough for each of you to grow. They could look at their expiring stock and supply it to you 7 days before expiry knowing that the stock is likely to move faster in your shop than theirs so the risk of expiry on shelf is mitigated against. I saw this work in SA and the warehouse that had this arrangement with retailers became my shop. After all, I did weekly groceries not monthly so it worked perfectly for me and I usually saved 15% as this stock came discounted.I have seen similar models in the agricultural value chain where farmers mentor younger farmers who don't have markets but outsourcing to them or link them to retailers.
Besides fmcgs, the same concept can be adopted by trainers, speakers, consultants and other professional services. Why not outsource the mundane tasks you hate doing to an upcoming player in your field? Or appoint them as an agent and that becomes an endorsement for them and they can leverage on that for their growth. For young entrepreneurs at times there is wisdom in seeking mentorship rather than competition. Yes you can disrupt and industry but never take experience and networks for granted. One could avoid certain pitfalls just by humbly allowing themselves to learn from others in the same industry. They will work with a protege and seek to crush a competitor. We can improve the statistics on failed entrepreneurs by intentionally seeking mutually beneficial collaborations. Creating a value exchange is better than competing sometimes.

Please, may all business people seriously consider pulling out or make or amend their business continuity plans. This coronavirus is already wreaking unprecedented havoc and now that it has officially hit our land we have much to think about given the parlous state of of our health system. And, let’s not get too carried away with the thoughts that we can fly out as a preventative measure and or treatment measure, we have to seriously think of working with what have and don’t have. There is no better time to fix the health sector than NOW.

Business and government need to strategize around, _amongst other things_:
1. Staff safety and welfare
2. Business continuity
3. Supply chain disruptions
4. Demand & production rationalization
5. Potential economic downturns and appropriate mitigation strategies (domestic, regional and global)
6. Medical aid and health insurance coverage and impacts
Etc Keep adding folks...
