1st Cor 13:4-8 (AMP)
4 Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.

5 It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].

6 It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.

7 Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].

8 Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy ([d]the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth].

'I LOVE YOU'...those deceptively simple but weighty words; so easy to abuse and utter without taking a second to think... What do they really mean? In fact, what do YOU mean when you tell someone you love them, whoever they may be?...
Are you saying you'll stand by them through thick and thin? Is it that you're just grateful for whatever they would have done for you at the moment? Are you saying you love who they are & are willing to overlook their flaws? Are you saying you'll be kind to them, patient, caring etc when they're not in their best mood? Are you saying you love them just because you're in a good mood?..what about when you argue or something?etc etc..

there is so much to the word love than we often realise & no one definition is perfect...but...what does it mean to you? what do you mean when you say it? what value are you attaching to it?at least have a definition for yourself..;if it doesnt mean anything to you, chances are it wont mean much to the other person -have-power.

Many at times we speak so carelessly; uttering any & every word without even giving it a thought...yet we forget that words, unlike other things, once spoken, their power or effect cannot be taken back or erased; just forgiven.
A seemingly simple & harmless statement can shatter a life-long dream, can destroy an already shaky self-esteem & cause a person who carries a solution much needed by this generation to spend the rest of their days in the shadow of fear.
& yet, a word fitly spoken, is like apples of gold in settings of silver says the Bible...Choose to let your words heal, encourage, soothe, energise & restore.
