It's truly inspiring to see the impact these tricycles are having, from boosting financial independence to improving access to healthcare. We're proud to be part of this journey towards a more equitable and sustainable future:

🗣️ “I get better prices because now I reach the market on time with my tomatoes still fresh. Even the children now know they can rely on me for school fees,” said the 34-year-old mother of six, Hilda Takadini.

🗣️ “I am on 24-hour standby. I get calls during odd hours and have to rush people to the hospital [using the Hamba]. Sometimes it’s a pregnant woman who would have otherwise given birth at home in unsafe conditions,” said Josephine Nyevhe, a volunteer community health worker.

Over the past two weeks, Mobility for Africa had the privilege of hosting our technology partner, Richard Zhao, CEO of Fourier Energy, along with his project manager, Webb. Their visit marked an important step in strengthening our battery technology, improving system resilience, and advancing skill development in Zimbabwe’s rural e-mobility sector.

🔧 On-Site Learning & Problem Solving:
Richard and Webb joined us at our mini-grid sites, working alongside our local team to assess system performance and co-develop solutions for battery longevity, charging efficiency, and environmental durability. From tackling BMS failures and load surges to improving solar integration and maintenance strategies, this collaboration is shaping the next phase of MFA’s technology roadmap.

⚡ Technology Transfer in Action
At MFA, we are committed to bridging innovation between Zimbabwe and China. By combining on-the-ground expertise with cutting-edge engineering insights, we are building a 360° research and development ecosystem that not only improves our technology but empowers local talent.

A key takeaway from this visit is the importance of knowledge sharing. Our team is working closely with Richard and Fourier Energy to ensure that local technicians are equipped to diagnose, maintain, and innovate battery and charging systems.

As we continue refining our systems, we look forward to rolling out new BMS solutions, optimizing battery design, and scaling our assembly and maintenance capabilities.
