✅ Gypsum significantly enhances green mealies' growth by improving soil structure and increasing water infiltration.
🌱 It provides essential calcium and sulfur, crucial for robust root development and plant vigor.
🌿 The added calcium helps in cell wall formation, leading to sturdier stalks and leaves, while sulfur aids in protein synthesis and chlorophyll production, enhancing photosynthesis efficiency. 🌾 Additionally, gypsum helps reduce soil compaction, allowing roots to expand more freely and absorb nutrients effectively, resulting in higher yields and healthier green mealies. 🌽✨

Understanding Pesticide and Fungicide Formulations: What Do the Letters Mean?

When you see letters like WDG, EC, and others after the name of a pesticide or fungicide, they indicate the formulation of the product. Here's a quick guide to what these letters mean and why they matter.

Common Formulations:

1. WDG (Water Dispersible Granules):
- These are granules that dissolve in water to form a spray. They are easy to handle and mix well without clogging sprayers.

2. EC (Emulsifiable Concentrate):
- A liquid that needs to be mixed with water before use. It forms an emulsion, making it effective and easy to apply. However, it can be more toxic and may require protective gear.

3. WP (Wettable Powder):
- A powder that must be mixed with water to create a sprayable solution. It's effective but can be dusty and may require constant agitation to stay mixed.

4. SC (Suspension Concentrate):
- A liquid containing fine particles suspended in water. It’s less dusty than powders and stays mixed better in water.

5. SP (Soluble Powder):
- A powder that completely dissolves in water, forming a true solution. It’s easy to mix and use but can be more expensive.

6. SL (Soluble Liquid):
- A liquid formulation that dissolves completely in water. It's simple to use and measure.

7. DF (Dry Flowable):
- Similar to WDG, these granules disperse in water. They’re less dusty and easier to measure and mix.

8. GR (Granules):
- Solid granules that are applied directly to the soil. They release the active ingredient slowly and are easy to apply without mixing.

9. ULV (Ultra-Low Volume):
- A concentrated liquid applied in very small amounts, often using special equipment. It’s efficient but requires careful handling.

10. DG (Dispersible Granules):
- Granules that disperse in water to form a spray. Similar to WDG but may have different properties based on the specific product.

11. ME (Microemulsion):
- Tiny droplets of active ingredient dispersed in water. They offer good stability and are less likely to clog equipment.

12. CS (Capsule Suspension):
- Active ingredients encapsulated in tiny capsules suspended in water. They release the ingredient slowly over time.

Understanding these formulations helps you choose the right product for your needs, ensuring effective pest and disease control while minimizing risks to yourself and the environment. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for mixing and applying these products to get the best results.

Benefits of Gypsum in Crop Production:

Nutritional Content in Gypsum: Calcium (19-20%) and Sulfur (17-18%).

Note: Gypsum does not correct soil acidity as it is not Agricultural Lime.
Fertilizer Use: Adds essential calcium and sulfur to the soil.

Soil Conditioner: Improves soil structure by loosening compacted soil.

Prevents Soil Crusting: Reduces runoff after irrigation by preventing soil capping, which helps plants access water easily and reduces irrigation costs.

Enhances Earthworm Activity: Creates a favorable environment for earthworms.

Phosphorus Uptake: Facilitates easier access to phosphorus.

Cell Development: Promotes good cell development, reducing post-harvest losses by strengthening the crop's shell due to calcium aiding in protein content.

Magnesium Balance: Calcium helps counteract high levels of magnesium.

Plant Health: Supports the growth of soft-leaf plants and assists in the leaf enlargement stage.

Photosynthesis: Sulfur is essential for photosynthesis.

Salt Reduction: Helps reduce soil salinity (sodium toxicity), which can hinder nutrient uptake by roots.

Calcium is absorbed by the roots and transported to the leaves via the xylem. Therefore, we encourage farmers to apply gypsum at planting to realize its benefits at the right time.

🌱 Boost Your Crop Production with Gypsum! 🌱

Did you know that gypsum can significantly improve your soil health and crop yields❓

❗Here are some key benefits of using gypsum in crop production❗

✅ Improves Soil Structure:
Gypsum helps in breaking up compacted soil, enhancing root growth and water infiltration.

✅ Reduces Soil Erosion: It stabilizes soil structure, reducing erosion and runoff.

✅ Enhances Nutrient Absorption:
Gypsum improves the availability of essential nutrients like calcium and sulfur to plants.

✅ Neutralizes Aluminum Toxicity:
It helps in reducing aluminum toxicity in acidic soils, promoting healthier plant growth.

❗❗For top-quality gypsum, visit The Farmers House located in Mainway Meadows Extension, Waterfalls, Harare.

We're offering Gypsum at an unbeatable price of $12 per 50kg bag.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to boost your crop production!

Benefits of Gypsum in crop production:

Nutrition content in Gypsum (calcium 19 - 20% Sulphur 17 - 18%).
NB: Gypsum does not correct acidity as it is not Agricultural Lime.
- Used as a fertilizer to add calcium and sulphur into the soil.
- Used as a soil conditioner (in terms of soil structure it loosens the soil).
- Prevents soil crusting which will lead to high run-off after irrigation because of soil capping which will increase the farmers cost on irrigation (so gypsum will assist the plant to access water easily.
- Promotes a good breeding environment for earth worms.
- Allows easy access to phosphorus uptake.
- Promotes good cell development, which will reduce post harvest losses since your crop will have a firm shell due to calcium assisting in protein content.
- Calcium fights high levels of magnesium.
- Calcium fights soft leaf fruiting plants, also assists in the leaf enlargement stage.
- Sulphur is needed for photosynthesis.
- Used to reduce salts in soil (Sodium toxicity), which hinders roots to uptake nutrients.

Calcium is taken up by roots to the xylem then to the leaves, so we encourage you farmers to use gypsum at planting to realise the benefit at the appropriate time.
