MEET THE SPEAKER

Dr. Jimmy M. Hangoma is a Clinical Pharmacist, academic, and author with a PhD in Pharmacy and a Master of Clinical Pharmacy. He currently serves as Senior Lecturer and Head of the Pharmacy Faculty at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University in Zambia.

He is an accomplished researcher with strong expertise in antimicrobial resistance, clinical trials, and pharmacy practice, and has published widely in peer-reviewed journals (35 papers). Dr. Hangoma is also a recognized and published author of books used in healthcare training and practice, contributing to the advancement of pharmacotherapy education.

He is a recipient of the 2025 Fleming Fund award for research on gender and equity in antimicrobial resistance in Zambia and has played key roles in national health programs, including HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria, and COVID-19 response. He is an advocate of Mental Health and has made several presentations on Emotional Intelligence and Mental Health.

Dr. Hangoma is passionate about strengthening healthcare systems through research, mentorship, and policy development.

The CA Leadership Masterclass is a course that was developed by the Institute of Chartered
Accountants Zimbabwe (ICAZ) to prepare the students for leadership roles and cover skills
that enable them to be future fit and relevant accountants. ICAZ has partnered with Zambia
Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) to offer the CA Leadership Masterclass to CA
Zambia students and graduates as it will provide essential soft skills to all Chartered
Accountant students and all members from Licentiate and above.
