SustiGlobal, the local partners for SLR Consulting is undertaking an Energy Audit Project in Zimbabwe dubbed "Mapping of Energy Use in Zimbabwe’s Industrial Sector”, a project under the Energy Efficiency for Sustainable Livelihoods in Africa (EELA) Zimbabwe Country Window (UNIDO). Its purpose is to collect high‑level information from industrial enterprises to:
• understand basic energy use patterns across subsectors;
• identify priority gaps and needs;
• identify representative enterprises for further engagement;
• assess readiness and willingness to share information; and
• support selection of 25-30 facilities for free onsite walkthrough assessments.

All information provided will be treated as strictly confidential and analysed primarily in aggregated form for reporting (i.e., results will be presented by subsector/size/region, not to identify individual enterprises).

By completing a short pre‑screening online questionnaire, your company will become eligible for a free onsite energy audit carried out by technical specialists from consultancy companies SLR Consulting Ltd (SLR) and SustiGlobal Ltd. The audit will identify practical energy‑saving opportunities within your operations, including indicative savings and payback periods. This support is being offered at no cost to participating firms as part of the national effort to improve industrial efficiency and competitiveness. ESIA UPDATES: GWANDA - BLANKET MINE 132KV TRANSMISSION LINE (32KM) ESIA STAKEHOLDERS' CONSULTATION

A public notice is hereby published in terms of Environment Management Act (CAP 20:27), S. I. 7 of 2007 and the African Development Bank (AfDB) Integrated Safeguards System (ISS) Operational Safeguard 1 guidelines and the World Bank's Environmental & Social Standard (ESS1 & ESS 10) that;
Caledonia Mining Corporation plc; an international gold mining company listed on the NYSE American, commissioned a consortium of Green Resources Compnay and SustiGlobal Consulting to conduct an Environmental and Social Impact Assesment (ESIA) for the proposed circa 32km of 132 kV transmission line; linking the Gwanda 132 kV ZETDC Substation in Ward 22 of Gwanda RDC to Blanket Mine. The line is espected to provide uninterrupted power to the expanding Blanket Mine mining operations.

The proposed line will traverse Ward 21 of Gwanda RDC, pass through Ward 10 under Gwanda Municipality, till it ends in Ward 21. The line will generally run in a south-eastern to north-western direction, parallel to both the Beitbridge–Gwanda Highway and the Gwanda–Blanket Mine Road. It will also pass along the western side of Cinderella Mine, Sablevale and, in some sections, occupy a corridor running parallel to the existing 33 kV line.

The project scope involves ; way-leave clearance, geo-tech surveys, construction of towers, installation powerlines and commissioning.
Interested and affected parties are requested to submit comments to the contact details provided below and following the above cited legal instruments and guidelines. Though stakeholder consultation process will be maintained throughout the life of the project, as stakeholders you are advised to submit your comments as the project progresses.

SustiGlobal is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of mineral exploration and water detection (hydro-scan) equipment to support hydro-geological investigations. The two machines acquired are the PQWT-TC300 and the Aerox Water Detector.

The PQWT-TC300, with a detection capacity of up to 300 metres is an advanced instrument used for locating groundwater sources. The device relies on natural electric fields and resistivity variations in underground formations to identify potential water-bearing zones, making it ideal for use by well drillers, drilling companies, and geologists.

The Aerox Water Detector complements the PQWT-TC300 by detecting areas of lower electrical resistivity, which typically indicate the presence of water-saturated ground. Together, these two devices provide reliable and efficient support for groundwater exploration and borehole siting with more than 90% accuracy.

For the past ten (10) years, SustiGlobal P/L has maintained partnerships with several reputable consulting firms, including Citseo Consulting (Canada), Lande (South Africa), and Tsalach Global (Zambia), among others. However, these collaborations alone were not enough; as a SustiGlobal family, we aspired to form a consortium with Green Resources Company (GRC) - the very organisation from which SustiGlobal P/L originated.

That aspiration has now been realised through the appointment by Blanket (Caledonia) Mine of the GRC–SustiGlobal Consortium to undertake the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the 32 km, 132 kV Gwanda - Blanket Mine transmission line and the associated Resettlement Action Plan (RAP). This partnership brings us great satisfaction, as it demonstrates that in a world often characterised by corporate rivalry, meaningful and complementary collaborations are still possible.

For us, this milestone is not primarily about the financial benefits expected from the project, but about the long-awaited opportunity - denied for nearly a decade - to formally collaborate with GRC. Achieving this before the close of our tenth year in business is both humbling and deeply significant.

We afeel honoured and humbled to serve as the sustainability consultant for the recently commissioned CRP Plant to which we provided support from the preparation of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) to conducting Air Quality Monitoring for backup generators and boilers. As their ESG consultant, we have this to say; "ESG integration strengthens operational efficiency, mitigates risks, and positions the plant as a responsible and forward-thinking manufacturer". The $100 million plant reflects the company’s vision of value creation through local processing of to***co and that will go a long way in providing employment as well as earning this country the foreign currency that it requires.

Geotechnical Baseline Investigations

This week we carried out a comprehensive soil contamination investigation to assess potential contamination from previous fuel storage and dispensing activities at the site. The purpose of this investigation was to identify and delineate any residual soil contamination that may pose environmental or health risks. By undertaking this assessment, the proponent wanted to ensure that the site is environmentally suitable and compliant with regulatory requirements for its intended redevelopment and construction. The same tests are required as part of due diligence before one purchases a property.
