It can be tempting to buy the latest eco-friendly product, but here's a sustainability secret:

The most sustainable item is usually the one you already own.

Before buying something new, ask yourself:

✔ Can I repair it?
✔ Can I reuse it?
✔ Can I borrow one instead?
✔ Do I already have something that does the same job?

Sustainability isn't about being perfect- it's about making thoughtful choices.

Sometimes the greenest purchase is no purchase at all.

🚫 FOR THAT: Single-use takeaway containers

Love grabbing sushi, a salad, leftovers from the café, or takeaway lunch on the go? Bringing your own container is an easy way to reduce waste without giving up convenience.

Every time you use your own container, you can help avoid:
❌ Plastic takeaway containers
❌ Plastic lids
❌ Plastic sushi trays
❌ Sauce containers
❌ Disposable cutlery
❌ Plastic-lined cardboard containers

Many takeaway containers are made from mixed materials, which can be difficult or impossible to recycle through household recycling systems.

🌏 One container used hundreds of times can replace hundreds of single-use containers over its lifetime.

My favourite options:
🥗 Stainless steel lunch boxes
🍱 Bento-style containers
🥣 Glass containers with secure lids
🍣 Reusable containers for sushi and deli items

Try these simple energy-saving tips:

💡 Turn off appliances at the wall when not in use
💡 Wash clothes in cold water where possible
💡 Close curtains at night to keep warmth in
