Compassionate leave is a separate entitlement. It doesn’t come out of your sick and carer’s leave balance.

All employees (including casuals) can take 2 days of compassionate leave (also known as bereavement leave) each time they meet the criteria.

You can take this leave if 👇
- a member of your immediate family or household dies, or contracts or develops a life-threatening illness or injury
- a baby in your immediate family or household is stillborn
- you have a miscarriage, or
- your current spouse or de facto partner has a miscarriage.

Full-time and part-time employees get paid leave 💵
Casual employees get unpaid leave ❌

Xero has advised that it's making changes to the price of its subscriptions in Australia. This
reflects their ongoing commitment to investing in a platform that helps you run your business.

From 1 July 2026, the following changes will apply:

• Ignite plan increases to $37 per month
• Grow plan increases to $78 per month
• Comprehensive plan increases to $107 per month
• Ultimate 10 plan increases to $143 per month
• Ultimate 20 plan increases to $180 per month
• Ultimate 50 plan increases to $250 per month
• Ultimate 100 plan increases to $300 per month

The Fair Work Commission (the Commission) has announced upcoming changes to junior wages under the:
• Retail Award
• Fast Food Award
• Pharmacy Award.

The changes mean employees between the ages of 18 and 20 will be paid the adult rate for their classification if they’ve worked for their employer for more than 6 months.

The Commission has indicated the changes will be introduced gradually, with further hearings to be held about how and when this will happen. They’ve said the changes could start from 1 December 2026.
