On behalf of the Canterbury Bankstown Chamber of Commerce - CBCC, we would like to extend our sincere thanks and congratulations to Sydney Community Connect Inc., and especially Joumana Eljamal and her dedicated team, for their ongoing commitment to our community.

Their recent community conversation around the safe use of e-bikes, e-scooters and Green Bikes is an important example of social responsibility and proactive community leadership.

These issues affect all of us whether we are pedestrians, drivers, commuters, parents, young people or simply members of our local community. Creating awareness, encouraging open dialogue and promoting safer behaviour is something we all have a role to play in.

Congratulations Joumana and the Sydney Community Connect team for continuing to step forward, raise important issues and advocate for a safer, stronger and more connected community.

Hakim one of the world’s leading transplant surgeons and an extraordinary individual whose journey extends far beyond medicine.

Professor Hakim is a British-Lebanese Professor of Transplantation Surgery at Imperial College London and General Surgeon at Cleveland Clinic London. He performed London’s first pancreas transplant and was part of the surgical team involved in the world’s first hand transplantation.

But his story doesn’t stop in the operating theatre.

A surgeon, academic, author, musician and sculptor, Professor Hakim’s journey offers powerful insights into resilience, ambition, leadership, overcoming challenges and making the most of every opportunity.
