• Mud tubes near skirting boards
• Soft, hollow timber

A termite queen can live for up to 25 years and produce thousands of eggs every single day. The workers and soldiers surrounding her exist entirely to protect and feed the colony she leads.

What this means for your home:

• A single colony can contain hundreds of thousands of termites

Watch for:
• mud leads near walls or garden edges
• hollow-sounding timber
• wings near windows or skirting boards

🔍 Small holes and powdery residue on your ceiling or walls? Don't ignore this.

What you're looking at is termite mudding (active termites in an internal wall cavity) — pushed out through small exit holes as the colony feeds and expands inside the wall cavity.

What these signs tell us:

• An active subterranean termite colony is present inside the structure
• The colony has been established long enough to be producing waste
• Structural timber is being hollowed out from the inside

Subterranean termites travel through the soil and access buildings through any small crack/crevice and or related conducive condition - in most occasions concealed entry. That makes them harder to detect — and this kind of destruction is often the first visible sign.

What to do:

• Do NOT disturb any visible signs — leave it for the technician to assess
• Note how much termite mudding/termite damage has accumulated and whether it's fresh or older
• Call us for an inspection as soon as possible
