Since 2021, the Lord Mayor’s Women in Business Grant has supported more than 260 women-led businesses across Brisbane, helping create jobs, build networks and drive sustainable growth.

For 2026 Lord Mayor's Women in Business recipient Emma Thomson, the funding will fast-track development of an industry-first audible cricket ball, opening the door for blind and low-vision cricketers to train safely at home and in schools.

Applications are now open for the 2027 Lord Mayor’s Women in Business Grant, supporting Brisbane women entrepreneurs to grow their businesses, build capability and make a lasting impact.

Whether you’re taking your first steps or ready to scale, eligible applicants can receive up to $5,000 to invest in essential equipment, education and training, or professional services that help take their business forward.

But the support doesn’t stop at funding. Successful applicants will also join a community of like-minded women and take part in a 12-month Women in Business Program, with access to learning, mentorship and connections, supported by presenting partner Commonwealth Bank.

Previous recipients have grown their businesses, entered new markets and created opportunities for others. Now, it could be your turn.

Backed by the Lord Mayor’s Women in Business Grant and Women in Business Program, you’ll have the support, connections and resources to grow your business, strengthen Brisbane’s economy and help shape the next generation of women leaders.
