As you may have noticed we love all animals, and we love posting the interactions our NQPS Superheroes have with our great FNQ Wildlife.

We found out that like many organisations Lamb Care Australia are finding donations hard to come by right now, and lambing season has just started. They have a generous donor offering to match donations over Easter, up to a total of $5000, but had only managed a fifth of that even thought it's already Easter Monday. So we decided to help out.

The volunteers at Lamb Care work with Australian Farmers to save unwell newborn lambs with diligent 2 hourly milk bottles, lots of love and even more nappies. ❤️

When the lambs are well they leave their foster carers to frolic in their forever homes, with no mint sauce in sight.

It's a baaa-eutiful (and tax deductible!) organisation.

We found this Sunbird while doing our rounds.

He was a little stunned from hitting the glass so we took him outside, but he decided he’d rather come on patrol with us.

Around an hour later he decided being a night patrol guard wasn’t for him, and flew off. We get it, not everyone has what it takes to be an NQPS Security Superhero.

NQPS Security superhero Adrian sent this video of him surviving night patrol in the great Australian FNQ Wilderness.

His dangers are many. His needs few. His chance of spontaneously performing interpretive dance while singing falsetto with a face full of spider web…extra high.

Northern Golden Orb weavers love bright lights where they can spin their beautiful all you can eat buffets and let their up to 20cm (8”) legspan hang (all the way) out.

We were onsite for the Crystal Serenity which was certainly in the right place.

⭐️ We are looking for the right person to join our fast-growing team of Security Superheroes.

⭐️ NQPS Security is the largest, full service FNQ Security provider, servicing from Townsville to Port Douglas, and out to the Tablelands region.

⭐️ With over 150 staff we are looking for a detail focussed team player with proven experience in payroll and compliance, preferably within the Security or related industry.

⭐️ This is a full-time, on-site role with a flexible 38 hour working week. You will be supported by our Accounts team and the General and Operation’s Managers.

⭐️ You will be working alongside our CIT Services Manager, and have the support of Admin staff.

⭐️This position allows for future growth. NQPS Security has more than doubled in size over the last 12 months and continues to secure new contracts with government, council and multinationals, as well as a diverse range of local clients.

👤 The preferred applicant will be:

⭐️ Adept at award interpretation (including all penalties) of the security award

⭐️ Proficient with Excel and Xero or other Payroll software
Extremely diligent and able to self-monitor their own work

⭐️ Able to enjoy working in a busy and often dynamic office environment

⭐️ Open to learning and taking on other roles to provide coverage as needed

⭐️ Able to understand the importance of compliance, and genuinely gain satisfaction from setting up and overseeing the running of approved systems, policies, and procedures

⭐️ Able to ensure all registries, insurances and employee handbook guidelines are up-to-date and compliant.

⭐️ A team player across all facets of office life

⭐️ Able to work in a respectful manner with a diverse range of people and personalities

⭐️ Able to foster compliance in a way that supports both individual employees and the company as a whole.

⭐️ A great communicator with skills both written and verbal

⭐️ Hands-on and operational

⭐️ Experienced with rostering platforms such as Deputy and /or Employment Hero, Dropbox Advanced, and Xero is advantageous.

⭐️Able to inspire employees to fulfil all best practice compliance requirements

👤 Role Description:

This is a mixed onsite role, working from our Cairns Head Office, where you will work across both accounts and compliance.

You will:

⭐️ Verify shifts and export data for payroll and various reports as needed.

⭐️ Support accounts in invoicing and payroll finalisation.

⭐️ Work with senior management instruction to ensure compliance across the company

⭐️ Ensure all new hires are given, fill in and understand all onboarding documents

⭐️ Ensure compliance of operational tasks

⭐️ Manage and train employees as necessary to ensure compliance with our policies and procedures

⭐️ Keep all insurances, licenses and other requirements up-to-date

⭐️ Ensure all record keeping such as asset registers and calendars are updated promptly

⭐️ Bring any concerns up with senior management promptly and factually

⭐️ Ensure the privacy of all company, client and employee data is held securely

⭐️ Learn other facets of the business to provide coverage as needed

Our NQPS Security Superheroes never know who is going to be hanging out when they do their nightly rounds.

This bloke at the Jonsson’s Farm Market looked friendly enough, but could be heard shouting “Run! Run as fast as you can! You can’t catch me, I’m a gingerbread man!”. He’s just lucky Mark didn’t have a coffee with him…or he may have been well and truly dunked.

There were presents, there were prizes and there were pigs! There was also an inflatable unicorn moonwalking to Taylor Swift because..well…actually we have no idea.

Our second and final NQPS Security Christmas BBQ was a whole lot of fun.

There was also weather so hot it was like standing in a steam oven. (The boss wouldnt let me write the metaphor i wanted to...)

We crowned a new Employee of the Month for December, the ever present, always helpful, Tyson Lee.

Last Friday was the first of our Security Superhero Christmas BBQ's 🍗(we are having another this Friday in the hope that every staff member gets to attend at least one!).

We learned a lot.

I learned that when you unicorn 🦄 up and put on a 7XL T-shirt it's important that someone pull the mane and back of the head out of the neckline... or you look like an alien.👽

The boss learned that BBQ'ing in a Cairns Summer during an extreme heat warning is about as much fun as rubbing Tiger Balm all over your body and setting yourself on fire. 🔥🔥🔥

SJ, our CIT and Customer Support Superhero learned he won our Employee of the Month Award 🏆🥇He really has gone above and beyond by constantly stepping up to handle everything and everything. We couldn't have done without him.

We all learned that Kerry's husband makes great sausages 🌭 and wagyu burgers, 🍔 and that Jimmy has pig 🐷 throwing skills far surpassing the rest of us.

Can't wait to see what this Friday brings... and just how red the bosses face will turn when barbecuing. 🍗 🤣
