AI is continuing to reshape how work is structured, measured, and led across many industries.

For management and C-suite roles, the focus is not only on adopting technology, but on guiding teams through change, assessing risk, and making informed decisions in a more technology-enabled environment.

As organisations evolve, leadership capability must evolve with them. The ability to combine commercial judgement, people leadership, and digital awareness is becoming increasingly important at senior level.

How is your organisation preparing its leadership team for the future of work?

Securing the right executive is only the beginning.

The early stages of a leadership appointment can shape long-term performance, stakeholder confidence, and organisational alignment.

Structured onboarding gives new leaders the context, relationships, and clarity needed to contribute effectively from the outset.

How does your organisation support leaders in their first 90 days?

Workforce planning is not a future conversation. It is already here.

Eva recently spoke at the Workforce Evolution in FNQ event, hosted by Regional Development Australia Tropical North.

The event brought together local leaders and workforce experts to discuss the challenges shaping Far North Queensland, from recruitment and retention to leadership capability, generational change and future skills.

For regional organisations, building resilient teams means thinking beyond today’s vacancies and preparing for the workforce needs of tomorrow.

Thank you to Regional Development Australia Tropical North for leading such an important conversation.

What workforce shift are you seeing most in your industry?

A fantastic start to the day at the Advance Cairns Leadership Breakfast, hearing from rugby league coaching legend Tony Smith and AFL Cairns Women & Girls Lead Ali Burke.

Tony shared powerful insights on leadership, resilience, accountability and building high-performing teams, reminding us that sustained success is rarely built on talent alone. Culture, consistency and the ability to stay focused under pressure all matter.

Ali highlighted the exciting growth of women’s sport in our region and the important role that leadership, community investment and inclusive pathways play in creating opportunities for the next generation.

One key takeaway was clear: whether you are leading a sporting team or an organisation, success is built on many of the same foundations: purpose, trust, resilience and an environment where people can perform at their best.

At Elite Executive, we see these principles reflected every day in the strongest leaders and organisations we work with across Far North Queensland.

Thank you to Advance Cairns for another excellent event, bringing together Cairns business and community leaders to share ideas, strengthen connections and continue shaping the future of our region.

This week, Eva had the opportunity to attend the Future Cairns event at Crystalbrook Riley, where leaders from across business, government, health, tourism, education and industry came together to discuss the future of our region.

The conversations covered some of the biggest opportunities and challenges facing Far North Queensland, including housing, workforce attraction and retention, healthcare, infrastructure, connectivity and economic growth.

What stood out most was the focus on people.

Cairns has enormous potential, but realising that potential will depend on our ability to attract, develop and retain the talent needed to support future growth.

As someone who works closely with organisations across the region to recruit and develop leaders, Eva found it encouraging to see workforce development recognised as such an important part of Cairns’ future.

Thank you to Cairns Post, the speakers and panellists for leading an important conversation about where our region is heading.

Did you know that unclear role expectations can impact executive performance long after the appointment is made?

At the senior level, success depends on more than capability. Clear priorities, reporting lines, decision-making authority, and stakeholder expectations all influence how effectively a leader can contribute.

Strong appointments begin with clarity before the search process starts.
