Are you compliant with new Sexual Harassment Prevention laws?

🚨 From 1 March 2025, PCBUs in Queensland MUST prepare and implement a prevention plan to manage identified risks to the health and safety of workers, or others, from s*xual harassment and s*x or gender-based harassment at work.

Proactive management is required of PCBUs under work health and safety legislation and requiring a written plan to be completed supports PCBUs in fulfilling this obligation.

🛑 Do you carry out work in or enter domestic roof spaces?

Did you realise that it's now a legal requirement that you must de-energise electrical installations before entering a domestic roof space. This means all power must be turned off at the main switchboard(s).

In rare cases where work must be done in an energised roof space, strict safety requirements apply. If you are conducting a business or undertaking, you must:
• Complete and keep a risk assessment.
• Ensure risks are reduced as low as reasonably practicable.
• Confirm the work can be done safely.
• Prepare, follow and keep a safety statement for the work.
