Attention!

The National Minimum Wage and all modern award minimum wage rates will increase by 3.75%, effective from 1st July 2024. The minimum wage will increase by 3.75% on July 1st 2024, up from $23.23 an hour to $24.10.

All modern award minimum wage rates are also increasing.

Setting up and maintaining a payroll software system can be complex. One small error in the setup can cause huge headaches down the track when the error comes to light. BHP has found that out when it admitted recently that it had underpaid thousands of staff after uncovering annual leave had been incorrectly deducted for years.

The minimum wage increase announced Friday must be applied manually in some payroll software such as Xero and MYOB.

Following the Annual Wage Review 2023, the Fair Work Commission has announced:
• the National Minimum Wage will be increased to $882.80 per week or $23.23 per hour
• a 5.75% increase to minimum award wages.

The increase applies from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2023.

We’re working to update to our pay tools, website information and resources with the new pay rates. These will be ready for you to access from 1 July 2023.

End of financial year is coming. Something to do before the of financial year is pay superannuation guarantee contributions.

To be able to claim the full deduction for superannuation guarantee contributions, the payment needs to be received in your employees super fund by 30 June 2023. Therefore ensure that you make payment by the cut off dates listed below.
