Redundancy became one of the most unexpected turning points in my journey.
After 25 years in the building industry, including 15 years running my own multi-million dollar family steel shed business, I eventually stepped back into a 9–5 role after a marriage breakup. But it didn’t take long to realise I felt restricted, boxed in, and disconnected from the freedom I valued.
What’s interesting is that I had already quietly started building my own online business alongside my job. It was something I was doing on the side while still working full time, more as a “side hustle” driven by passion than anything else.
Then came the moment I’ll never forget. After asking the universe for a sign around my direction, I was made redundant just hours later. It felt like a shock at the time, but in hindsight it was the clearest signal I could have received, it was time to fully commit to what I had already started.
The advantage I had was simple: I wasn’t starting from scratch. I already had the foundation in place. I just needed to shift my focus and trust the process.
That decision changed everything.
Through personal development and building my business with Ultimate Balance, I rebuilt my confidence, direction, and long-term vision. What started as replacing an income quickly evolved into something much deeper, purpose, contribution, and freedom.
The results quickly followed as I committed fully. Aligned with a high-value business model it allowed me to earn between $2,000 and $8,000 per sale, with my strongest month so far reaching $30,000, a milestone that would have taken me 5 months to achieve in my previous path.
But the real transformation wasn’t just financial.
It was becoming someone who operates with authenticity, clarity, confidence, and choice.
Today, I have the flexibility to structure my days around what matters most, family time, work with a true purpose & driven by passion, and personal contribution.
Looking back, redundancy didn’t take anything from me, it simply accelerated what I had already begun.
Sometimes the “sign” isn’t the end of something, it’s the permission to go all in on what you’ve already started.
The truth is, you don’t need everything perfectly mapped out to begin. You can start quietly in the background, build something alongside your current life, and let it grow step by step. Or, when the timing calls for it, you can choose a fresh start and fully step into something new.
Either way, momentum begins the moment you decide to stop waiting and start building. If I can do it, you can do it too.
