Usually, Garry pushes hard. Sometimes too hard to my liking 🙃
“Slow down Garry, slow down!” I yell 😂
He laughs and pushes harder 💪

Recently, though, he injured his ankle, so we’re keeping him off his feet as much as possible.
Which gives us more time to work on his weaknesses.

Here, we’re bringing more awareness to the way his body moves, addressing shoulder imbalances, and their ability to rotate.
It’s slower work. Less glamorous than lifting heavy weights. But often, this is where the magic happens.

Over the years I’ve learned that every injury, setback or challenge can become an opportunity to pay attention to the things we’ve been neglecting.

Every challenge is a blessing in disguise.

And as I know Garry, he’ll come back from this with a stronger, smarter, and more resilient body than before 💪💪

Most of my clients know that I’m usually barefoot 😁

What many don’t know is that a few years ago my feet were giving me a lot of trouble.

That started me down a rabbit hole of learning about feet, balance, movement, and pain.

This little routine is some of what helped.

Simple, practical, nothing extreme 🦶

Just helping the body to remember what is designed to do feet 👣

This squat took nearly 10 years 💪

Not because learning to squat takes that long.
Rebuilding confidence after major abdominal surgeries, anxiety, setbacks, and years of feeling disconnected from your body takes time.

Meet Vic, the baby of my gym 😁

Sometimes the people who inspire us most aren’t the strongest or fastest.
They’re the ones who simply refuse to quit 💜

It’s been pouring down here on the Goldie for a couple of days now 🌧️

It nearly feels like I just want to stay in under a blanket ☺️
Yet, my body yearns for movement.
We were never designed to sit still for 8-10 hours straight.
A recent study found that short movement breaks throughout the day- even something as simple as 10 body weight squats every hour- improved blood sugar control better than one long walk later in the day.

So today, instead of waiting for the “perfect workout “
- do a few squats 💪
- walk around the house 🚶
- stretch your ankles 🦶
- move your spine 💃🏽
- make movement part of your coffee/water break ☕️

Start your movement habit today. Your body will thank you for it 💜
