Our annual Christmas in July celebration was a little delayed this year - Christmas in July (in September!) 🎄😂

We had a fantastic night away at Pethers Rainforest Retreat, enjoying a delicious three-course dinner, beautiful food and service, a roaring fire and a gorgeous table setting under the lights.

It was our third time staying at Pethers and, once again, it was the perfect setting for the team to relax, catch up and enjoy a night together.

The following morning, we held a great company meeting with the whole team, making the most of having everyone together in one place.

And we couldn’t leave out the funniest group photo… Michael decided the floor was the best place to pose! 😂

A wonderful night with a great team. ❤️

What happens after a development gets approved?

There’s often still quite a bit to work through before an approved development can progress through to registration.

A Building Format Plan (BFP) is a legal survey plan used to divide a building into individual lots and shared common property. Depending on the development, the process can also involve Service Location Diagrams, Exclusive Use Area sketches and Plan Sealing.

We recently had a client in Upper Coomera receive approval for an additional dwelling while still achieving two off-street parking spaces on the existing block.

Arnolds are currently undertaking the Building Format Plan (including Service Location Diagrams, Exclusive Use Area sketches if required) and lodging the Plan Sealing Application for the project.

By providing these services together, we can assist the client through all requirements needed and help move the approved development towards registration.

🏗️ Another successful minor change approval for our Town Planner Zoe!

Our client approached Arnolds to prepare a minor change application seeking an extension to a site’s historic building envelope.

The approval helps ensure the development remains compliant while allowing the project to continue progressing without unnecessary delays.

When environmental constraints intersect with development outcomes, having clear planning advice and a well-justified application can be key to achieving a practical result.

A great collaborative outcome for our client and another successful result for the Arnolds team! 👏

Back in South West Queensland 🌅

Another week back on site for the Arnolds team, continuing work on one of our ongoing projects in the South West Queensland.

We’ve shared plenty of updates from this project over the past few months, so this time we thought we’d keep it simple and share a few more photos from the latest trip.

A few beautiful views captured by Michael while the team was out on site - a nice reminder of just how different the scenery can be when our work takes us outside the city.

Another productive week for the team, with plenty more progress made on site. 👏

Successful plan sealing in Pimpama! 🏡

We’re pleased to share another great outcome for the Arnolds team and our client, with the successful plan sealing of a dual occupancy project in Pimpama.

Our surveying team prepared the Building Format Plan to meet the required technical requirements, while our town planning team worked closely with Council to manage and progress the Plan Sealing application through to endorsement.

It’s a great example of how our town planning and surveying teams can work together to provide a coordinated approach for our clients and help keep projects moving through the approval process.

Rural Surveying in Action. 🌿

This week had one of our surveyors working across a rural property, navigating long grass and covering plenty of ground to collect the survey data needed for the project.

The cooler weather has definitely made working outdoors a bit more comfortable and hopefully it's keeping the snakes happy where they are! 🐍😅

No two sites are ever the same, and that's one of the things we love about the job!

🌊 Office for the day? We'd happily take this one! 🚙☀️

One of our surveyors recently headed over to Moreton Bay Island to complete survey setout works, and it's fair to say the commute looked a little different from the usual.

With the beach serving as the road and endless ocean views along the way, this was certainly a unique job site. While the scenery was spectacular, the mission remained the same - providing precise survey setout to ensure construction starts exactly where it should.

No matter where our clients' projects take us, our team is ready to deliver accurate, dependable surveying solutions across South East Queensland and beyond.

Who else would swap the office for this view? 🌴🌊

🌫️ Some mornings on site are simply unforgettable.

Lake Manchester delivered an incredible winter sunrise this week, with thick fog blanketing the landscape and creating some amazing photos.

While the scenery stole the spotlight, our team was hard at work delivering another rural static high-order survey control network.

There may not be any mobile phone coverage out here, but that doesn't stop Arnolds from positioning projects on the Earth with sub-10mm horizontal and vertical accuracy using Leica Static GNSS technology.

High-order survey control networks provide the reliable framework that supports every stage of a project, giving clients confidence that future surveying, engineering and construction can be carried out with precision.

Sometimes the best office comes with a pretty incredible view.

📍 Supporting the Next Generation of Surveyors

Recently, we welcomed Blake from St Michael's College to Arnolds for work experience, giving him the opportunity to experience life as a Land Surveyor firsthand.

During his placement, Blake joined our survey team on site, assisting with construction set-outs and contour and detail surveys, while learning how surveyors use specialised equipment and accurate data to support land development projects.

It's always rewarding to see young people taking an interest in our profession, and we're proud to provide opportunities that help students explore future career pathways.

A big thank you to Blake for his enthusiasm and willingness to learn throughout the week. We wish him all the very best for the future!
