Big horse got a reset. Second time. Handled the smoke like an Olympic Games horse.
Swinging like ole Tarzan, King of the jungle! !

Aged dressage horse with arthritic changes to the DIP joint.
Trying some graduated barshoes to open the back of the joint during stance phase. Toes are set back to limit lever arm force's.
Hopefully we can prevent him getting injected for a little longer 🤞

Been a little quiet on here recently.
I did a bit of damage to my wrist surgery not letting it recover enough before practicing draft shoes for Caboolture Competition.
I gave it another four weeks off and am happy to be back in my small smithy making shoes again ✌️🦘

A stress event caused a little reaction in the hooves of this horse.
Wonderful clients had some vascular highlights on MRI Scan.
We decided to go with the 2 degree pad , with the multi texture to allow perfusion of the vascular system and help with recovery.
Will be interested to see how they hold up as they are new to me in Australia 🦘

The Gold Coast is the hardest environment I have encountered anywhere in the world, for horses hooves.
Gallopers, Performance horses, pony clubbers and barefoot.
The swings in moisture content are the biggest concern when setting up a shoeing plan.
In the past 24 hours, we have had 180 mm of beautiful rain. And it's still raining. And its still humid.
Flooding in the low country like the neighbours back paddock behind my blacksmiths shop.
Stay safe out there on the road and move your horse into some dry for a few days ✌️🦘

Massolette toe clip fully fullered practice shoes from a couple of years ago on a retired gentleman . He has a disparity in the angle of scapular, that is also present in his front feet
Has a slight lateral carpus rotation of the off fore as well .
And everyone who knows him, loves him ✌️

Beautifully handled big warmblood eventer transitioning from barefoot.
First set of shoes and hot fit.
The owner was giving him a little treat when I fit him so he didn't worry to much about the smoke.
She also worked him before shoeing so he wasn't fresh like fit horses can be ✌️
Needs some traction as he heads to 2 star.
14 1/2" 1 X 1/2 inch English concave with stud holes in line with travel upon landing.
