Seeing Marinas Through a Different Lens…

I've spent years visiting marinas around Australia, helping owners and operators improve the customer experience. Along the way, I've realised that some of the best stories aren't actually about the marinas themselves.

They're about the local coffee shop overlooking the water. The waterfront restaurant everyone recommends. The hidden gems you discover. The boating adventures, fishing spots, local characters and experiences that make each destination unique.

So I've launched a TikTok channel to start documenting these experiences through the eyes of a customer and visitor.

No polished productions. No corporate marketing. Just authentic stories, real people, local businesses and the unique experiences that make life around marinas and waterfront destinations so special.

As part of the journey, I'm also taking on a 30 Day Challenge with the Creators Club Australia to learn more about content creation, storytelling and what resonates with people online.
So you'll see a mix of marina experiences, local discoveries and some practice content as I learn along the way.

Isn't Hugo looking chuffed? 😄

Stopped in at The Mantaray Marina & Residences this week and it's easy to see why. The marina is officially open, boats are arriving and the whole place has an amazing buzz about it.

For a team who's spent plenty of time around marinas, this is one of those projects where you can appreciate the little things. The space, the finish, the layout and the quality throughout are all first class.

I also bumped into a few familiar faces from the industry checking it out, and everyone seemed to have the same reaction... impressed.

The Broadwater just keeps getting better.

Well done Hugo and the entire Mantaray team. Boat owners are in good hands. 👏⚓️

Some of the biggest growth opportunities for a marina aren't found in the financials. They're found walking the docks, observing how the marina operates, and speaking directly with the customers who use it every day.

This week we were onsite at The Bowen Marina undertaking a comprehensive business review. The conversations with boat owners and visitors often reveal the small 1% improvements that can significantly enhance customer experience, operational efficiency and commercial performance, creating opportunities for substantial business growth.

With the Bowen Harbour Masterplan currently under review, it's also an important time to understand not only what opportunities exist for the marina today, but how Bowen Marina can play an even greater role in the future vision of the harbour and waterfront precinct.

It's not often we stop and look at all the projects we're involved in at once.

When we did, it was a great reminder of why we love this industry.

Right now we're working with marina owners, operators, developers and industry organisations across Australia on everything from feasibility studies and marina design through to CRM systems, marketing campaigns, customer experience initiatives and operational improvements.

What excites us most is that no two projects are the same. Each marina has its own opportunities, challenges and vision for the future.
