A few months ago I was lucky enough to attend an intimate artist in residence event down at my fave motel The Cheshire Cat Motel with the talented and hilarious Amber Kingi

It was such a fabulous night and Amber interviewed by the always inspiring Monique - Curator | Master of Arts Research from 19 Karen Contemporary Artspace . This week the art exhibition is finally here and they only have a few tickets left.

Come and spend an evening with the crew at The Cat as they celebrate the culmination of Amber Kingi’s inaugural Cheshire Cat Artist Residency.

It will be a relaxed evening as Amber shares the work that grew from her time during the residency.
She is a talented local Artist who is known for her vibrant , modern and fashion inspired works.

What a night Dust Temple for the Gold Coast Heat of the Australian Poetry Slam ‘26.

20 poets + one mic and the audience vote decides it all. Who knew poetry was so much fun !? I had never been to a poetry event before and I popped my cherry in the best way possible.

Massive love to my beautiful friend Colin for inviting me down and then bringing the house down as the feature poet.

His pieces on the joy of being a girl grandad, his chemo journey, and an ode to the nurses who got him through it had the whole room in awe, absolute highlight of the night for me.

Colin and I have crossed paths a few times over our shared love of cafes. This local legend is well known around town as the accidental coffee slt (self proclaimed), and honestly I have so much respect and admiration to him for creating such buzz around the whole event and I met so many amazing new people of all ages and all with such interesting stories.

Congrats to the very well deserved winners who are now heading to the upcoming QLD Final in Brisbane, with the National Final all the way at the Sydney Opera House later this year .

My recent work with St Hilda’s was an absolute treat. High school me would have been proud to see creativity coming back into my life.

Growing up, drama and singing were a massive part of my world, and watching these talented young students lighting up the stage a few weeks ago was an honour. 🙏
