Recently, our crews completed a routine maintenance clean of two Gross Pollutant Traps (GPTs) on the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House.
While it was a routine maintenance job, the conditions were anything but routine. Working in the rain and navigating access with a smaller unit to reach the forecourt pits made the task more challenging, but the team got it done safely and efficiently.
In total, four tonnes of stormwater waste was removed from the network, helping stop litter, sediment and debris from being washed into Sydney Harbour’s fragile marine ecosystem and supporting the performance of critical drainage assets around one of Australia’s most recognised waterfront locations.
It’s a practical example of how consistent maintenance supports cleaner waterways, better-performing assets, and healthier environments.
