“AI has reduced the barrier to entry for any entrepreneurs that want to take the leap.”

Alexander Cohen - Scope&Go, Three Hat Robotics & Queensland AI Hub

We’re hearing a lot about AI right now.
But what does it actually look like to use it in a practical way?

For founders, it’s not about rushing or cutting corners.
It’s about starting sensibly.

Using AI to:
→ test ideas
→ build early MVPs
→ explore if something is commercially viable
→ before investing significant time or money

It’s about learning faster, reducing risk and moving forward with more confidence.

Join us with Alexander Cohen and Amanda Ducrou from Scope&Go and Three Hat Robotics, in collaboration with Queensland AI Hub, for a relaxed, practical conversation on how they’re doing exactly this.

What if the biggest unlock in AgriFood-Tech isn’t another technology…
but who we choose to support?

For International Women’s Day, this year’s theme “Give to Gain” invites us to reflect on something simple but powerful:
What happens when people intentionally share opportunity, knowledge and networks so others can step forward?

In AgriFood-Tech, that question matters.

This sector is shaping the future of food, climate resilience and global productivity. Yet women remain underrepresented across leadership, investment and innovation roles. At a time when agriculture needs its broadest possible pool of ideas, that gap represents more than an equity challenge — it’s a missed opportunity for the industry itself.

So we asked members of the F2F TEKWOMEN community to reflect on what “Give to Gain” means in practice.

From visibility and belief to access, networks and encouragement, their reflections reveal something powerful:

Ecosystems grow strongest when people actively support one another.

Sometimes progress begins with something small —
an introduction,
a conversation,
a moment of encouragement,
a seat at the table.

Because when opportunity circulates more freely, innovation moves faster.

If the future of food, innovation and leadership in AgriFood-Tech matters to you, explore the full article below.

Now, Next, and What’s Coming: Agtech for Producers

Join us at Koroit Field Days for a practical, discussion-led session exploring agtech from a producer’s point of view — what’s delivering value now, what’s emerging, and how to avoid costly tech mistakes.

We’ll look at real examples from the agtech ecosystem, near-term technology shifts, longer-term trends, and the common pitfalls farmers face when choosing new tools.

Delivered in collaboration with Moyne Shire Council, this session is designed for producers who want straight answers, practical insights, and honest conversation.

We’d love you to join us for the very first TEKWOMEN Lunch & Learn 🌿 — happening next Thursday, 25 September, 12:30–1:30pm AEST. And yes, it’s free to attend.

We’ll be in conversation with Mindy Woods — Bundjalung woman, chef, restauranteur and “Native Food Queen.” Mindy will share her journey from chef to entrepreneur, and invite us to see business through the female founder lens: women as leaders, knowledge keepers and culture-shapers.

This session isn’t just for founders. It’s for anyone curious about how their own lived experience can become a source of strength in business and leadership.

💡 Got a question for Mindy? Share it with us ahead of time and we’ll weave it into the Q&A.

📣 “Saying ‘no’ can be just as important as saying ‘yes.’ Boundaries give you the space to grow into roles that fit.” – Joanne Barber

That message really landed in this week’s conversations around Portfolio Careers in Agrifood-Tech.

Our speakers each brought a different lens to what building a portfolio career looks like:

💬 Dr Christine Pitt: Portfolio careers don’t happen by accident, they’re built by design, with intention and a clear sense of value.

💬 Joanne Barber: Boundaries matter. Protecting your time and energy ensures you’re saying “yes” to the right opportunities.

💬 Claire Mahony: Your lived experience isn’t just background, it’s a strength you can translate into meaningful advisory and consulting pathways.

💬 Roop Judge: Networks are the launchpad for growth. Back yourself, leverage your connections, and create your own opportunities.

💡 The big takeaway?

There’s no single pathway to leadership in agrifood-tech, but clarity, confidence, and community make all the difference.

👏 A huge thank you to our speakers for sharing so openly, and to the community for leaning into the conversation with such curiosity and courage.

💥 Women in agrifood-tech are ready to lead change.

❓ The question is: how do we lift each other up to make the biggest impact?
At our first Agri-ELEVATE Masterclass, four inspiring voices shared their experience:

✅ Lea Diffey 👉 “The people beside you are your network, and the skills you’ve carried with you are your value. Don’t leave them behind. Back yourself, because if you don’t, why would anyone else?”
✅ Guillermo Beltramín 👉 “Women in agriculture hold power in their networks and trust, that’s what drives real innovation.”
✅ Monica Bradleyb 👉 “Be yourselves. Bring what you have. Ask for what you need, and give what you can.”
✅ Fleur Anderson 👉 “You don’t need to feel 100% confident to step up, sometimes it’s just 2% more confidence than fear, and a bit of ‘bugger it, let’s have a go,’ that gets you there.”

That’s exactly what is about, growing confidence, connections, and leadership for Queensland women in agrifood-tech innovation.

We’re excited to bring together 13 amazing QLD women leaders in agrifood-tech for , an 8-week program supporting mid-to-late career leaders to explore what’s next, build confidence, and step into leadership roles.

👏 This week, we kicked off Agri-ELEVATE and our first session was incredible, digging in deep on "Where Ag is Evolving Fast: Innovation, Opportunity & Where You Fit"!

A huge thank you to our inspiring guests:

⭐ Lea Diffey for setting the scene on the massive opportunity in agrifood innovation and Queensland's strong position to lead.

⭐ Guillermo Beltramín for bringing a global lens, sharing trends shaping agri-food markets and the flow of talent into new innovation hotspots.

⭐ Monica Bradley who urged us not to wait until everything is perfect, but to back ourselves, place small bets, and move with those ready to get on the bus.

⭐ Fleur Anderson for grounding us with a powerful reminder that innovation must always connect back to communities and regional realities to create real impact.
