Thank you to everyone who attended last night’s screening of Signorinella ‘Little Miss’.

Alongside Italian Wine and traditional pasta, it was a night dedicated to celebrating Italian heritage. The film Signorinella shines a light on the bravery of Italian women who faced hardship when migrating to Australia. Despite their struggles, these women became pioneers, shaping Australian culture in the process. The film was very well received.

We were lucky to be joined by Angelo Pricolo, one of the creators of the film who spoke on his experience making the film and gave us an opportunity for Q&A. We are very grateful for his attendance and allowing us to screen his excellent film. Signorinella is available at select theatres and the book, also by Angelo Pricolo, is available at Verso books in Healesville.

Thank you to those who attended, and follow us on social media for more great upcoming events.

Join us for an evening of film and wine hosted by Giammarino Wines.

Giammarino Wines invites you for a screening of the film Signorinella/Little Miss on February 28th from 5.30 to 8.30pm.

Signorinella tells the stories of the strong, spirited Italian women who helped shape the Italian- Australian community and cooked a few plates of pasta along the way. This film resonates so close to the heart of Giammarino Wines, and the stories are ones that were felt and replicated in the lives of our family who migrated to Australia.

The evening will of course include a pasta dinner, the screening of the movie and we will be joined by Angelo Pricolo, one of the film directors, who will talk us through the making of the film.

Signorinella has been an official selection into MIFF 2025 along with the Italian Film Festival. Signorinella shines a light on the unsung heroes of the Italian migrant experience. Italian women take centre stage as they share personal stories of hardship, resilience and triumph. From raising families while running small businesses, to transforming Australia’s food, fashion and cultural landscape, these women did more than adapt. They thrived. The film is a tribute to their courage, creativity and quiet strength, capturing a legacy that still echoes through the community today. The cast of the movie includes Tina Arena and Carla Zampatti and is narrated by Gretta Scacchi. The movie is 86 minutes in length.

On the evening, Angelo will also be launching his book about the making of the film.
Angelo’s book will be available at the Verso bookstore in Healesville.

Tickets are $46 per person including pasta, the screening of the movie and meeting the director. Our single estate wines will be on offer on the night alongside other Italian offerings.

Written Directed and Produced by
Angelo Pricolo, Jason McFadyen and Shannon Swan (who directed Gurrumul)
