Winning a game of mid-week bingo is great, but getting away from our desks to connect with the Hobart business community is even better. ๐ŸŽฑ

I spent the afternoon at @โ€ŒServcorp Hobart for their latest community event. I went along for the catch-up and conversation, and ended up walking away with one of the prizes. ๐Ÿ†

We believe a great workspace isn't just a place to power through your to-do list. It's somewhere you can connect, collaborate, and actually enjoy your work day.

A big thank you to Genevieve, Maddie, and Tana for putting together such a fantastic afternoon. You made it easy for everyone to pause work, share a few laughs, and build real relationships. ๐Ÿค

Building a business isn't just about strategy documents and website analytics. ๐Ÿ’œ

Today's Wear it Purple Day, and we're proudly getting behind it at She Rocks Digital. It's a powerful day dedicated to fostering safe, empowering, and inclusive environments for rainbow young people across Australia.

Running a boutique agency in Hobart means we care deeply about the community we operate in. For us, inclusion isn't a checkbox exercise or a once a year post. It's woven into how we collaborate, design, and treat every person who walks through our virtual doors.

We want every young person to know they're safe, seen, and supported to bring their authentic self to work and life. โ˜•

How are you or your team showing up for Wear it Purple Day this week? Tell us in the comments. ๐Ÿ’ฌ ~ Ruth

Having a functional website isn't enough to bring new clients through the door. And potential doesn't pay the bills. โ˜•

When Hobart psychologist Renรฉe Valentino came to us, her existing website wasn't pulling its weight. She brings deep expertise to her practice, but her online presence wasn't reflecting that authority or converting visitors into bookings.

We stepped in to give her digital strategy a complete overhaul. Here's how we turned things around:

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Layout overhaul: We shifted her layout to landscape, placing her core value proposition side by side with a clear call to action

๐Ÿ” Niche SEO focus: We pivoted her SEO away from competitive terms like psychologist toward high intent niche keywords around Dialectical Behaviour Therapy in Hobart

๐Ÿ’ก Inclusive design: We reformatted dense text into clear bullet points and custom icons, making content welcoming for neurospicy or overwhelmed clients

โญ Ethical trust: Since industry regulations prevent patient testimonials, we built trust using anonymous mini case studies that highlight real client progress without breaking privacy rules

Hearing Renรฉe say "That's brilliant, I wouldn't have thought of that" during our strategy session is exactly why we love what we do. ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Between website launches and client calls in our Hobart studio, there're two unofficial cofounders making sure we take regular brain breaks. ๐Ÿพ

So on International Dog Day, we're celebrating our resident dachshunds, Alfie and Olga. We're very much dog people around here, and these two run the studio. ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•

Running a boutique agency means hours spent staring at desktop screens. Having Alfie and Olga around's a daily reminder that staying grounded's just as important as growing your revenue. They bring the energy when there are treats around, the comfort, and the mandatory post lunch walk schedule. ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿฆฎ

We know so many of our clients and fellow business owners are huge dog lovers too. Tell us about your four legged cofounders in the comments and drop a photo of your furry team members below. Weโ€™d love to see. ๐Ÿ’ฌ ~ Ruth

Running a business solo means those annoying admin tasks and website updates get pushed to next week. Then next week quickly becomes next month. ๐Ÿ’ป

That draft blog post is still sitting in your drafts folder. Your social media scheduling is falling behind. The website tweaks you promised yourself you'd finish three weeks ago are still waiting.

We're fixing that this Thursday, 27 August, from 11am to 1pm AEST. โฑ๏ธ

I'm hosting a free virtual coworking session to help you clear your desk. There's no sales pitch, no awkward icebreaker small talk, and zero slide decks. Just focused ex*****on.

Here's how it works:

โ˜• We hop into the live room at 11am.

๐ŸŽฏ We drop our single focus goal in the chat.

๐Ÿคซ We mute our mics and execute for two hours straight.

Body doubling works because collective accountability keeps you in your seat and gets the work done. ๐Ÿง

Grab your free digital seat via the link down in the first comment, grab a coffee, and bring that one task you've been avoiding. See you in the room this Thursday. โ˜• ~ Ruth

Chasing thousands of monthly website visitors from the other side of the world won't pay your bills. ๐Ÿ’ธ

If you run a small business here in Tassie or anywhere across Australia, you don't need global eyeballs. You need the person down the road who's actively looking to buy from you today. ๐Ÿ“

Global website traffic is a vanity metric. To win local customers, you need to own your digital backyard.

We've just published a practical guide sharing the exact local SEO moves that drive actual revenue, from tightening your Google Business Profile to fixing website friction. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

Because reading about strategy is only step one, we're taking these exact tactics into the room with you next month for our live Google Business workshops. We'll help you secure your front row seat on Google Maps and turn local search clicks into paying clients. ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ’ป

๐Ÿ“ Hobart Workshop: 30 September

Quick reminder for anyone whose to do list is currently winning โ˜•

Our free virtual coworking session is happening this Thursday 27 August from 11am to 1pm, and there are still a few spots open.

If you've been putting off updating your website, mapping your content calendar, or clearing administrative clutter, this is your dedicated space to knock it out. ๐Ÿ’ป

We log onto Google Meet, drop our individual goals into the chat, mute our microphones, and work through 2 x 50 minute sprints. I'll also jump in during the break with a fast, high impact marketing tip to help you refine your strategy. ๐Ÿ’ก

No forced networking, no pitch decks, and no awkward small talk. It's simply pure, focused ex*****on alongside other women and inclusive business owners.

Cameras are optional but encouraged if you want that extra bit of accountability โœŒ๏ธ

Drop a ๐Ÿ’ฌ in the comments if you want me to send over the link to grab your spot, or tag a colleague who needs to tackle their backlog with you. ~ Ruth

Daffodil Day's always a quiet moment of reflection for our team. Cancer's something that's touched every single one of us in some way, and we've all felt the heartbreak of losing someone dear to us. ๐ŸŒผ

Today, we donated to the Cancer Council in memory of family members who mean the world to our team. Supporting research and care services is one of the simplest ways we can look after each other as a community. ๐Ÿ’›

We know so many of you in our small business community have your own stories and loved ones you're remembering today. If you're able to donate or buy a daffodil today, every bit makes a real difference.

How's your business marking Daffodil Day this year? Drop a yellow heart in the comments below if you're standing with us today. ๐Ÿ’ฌ ~ Ruth + Corey

World Photography Day ๐Ÿ“ธ

Whether you are snapping BTS moments on your mobile phone or investing in a full brand photoshoot, imagery does the heavy lifting for your business online.

Great brand photos bridge the gap between a casual visitor and a paying client. They show the real humans behind the scenes and tell your story before a visitor even reads the first sentence on your website.

When you pair authentic, high quality visual assets with a strategic digital footprint, that is when your business truly begins to scale โ˜•๏ธ

How often do you update your brand photography? Drop your latest team or brand snap in the comments below so we can cheer you on. ๐Ÿ’ฌ ~ Ruth

Ever wondered why politicians are suddenly doing blind cola taste tests and making dad jokes on your feed? ๐Ÿฅค

Matt Maloney from The Examiner Newspaper, Launceston reached out to me recently to break down the digital strategy behind the dorky dad trend taking over political feeds.

The era of the stiff politician reciting scripted speaking points is officially over. Today, voters and clients are craving real human authenticity in an AI heavy landscape.

When leaders post unpolished, relatable moments, social media algorithms reward them with massive engagement spikes. That reach keeps their profile prioritised in user feeds, creating the perfect window to deliver major policy or business announcements right after.

You don't need to film yourself eating raw onions or reviewing fast food to build authority. But you do need to show the real human behind your business. People buy from real people, not faceless corporate logos. ๐Ÿ“ฑ

Have you noticed yourself stopping more for unpolished face to camera videos lately? Let's chat in the comments. ๐Ÿ’ฌ

If you'd like to read the full feature in The Examiner, I've dropped the article link in the first comment below (just keep in mind it sits behind a subscriber paywall) ๐Ÿ“ฐ
