“I thought you were moving to India!?”

In case you missed it, I shared recently that my husband, son and I are moving to India for three months in November. 🇮🇳

And yes, I have always said three months. But I also know that “WE’RE MOVING TO INDIA” makes for a pretty good hook. 😂

Of course, moving permanently is different to spending an extended period somewhere.

But I also don’t want to minimise what we’re doing.

For all intents and purposes, we are moving.

We’re packing up our home because we’ll be renting it out.
We’re making arrangements for our cat and our car.
My husband has organised leave from work. We’re navigating school, work, travel and all the logistics that come with relocating your family to another country.

Three months is still a BIG adventure.

And quite frankly, I think it’s pretty courageous too.

Maybe it’s the first step towards living in India for longer. Maybe somewhere else. Maybe we’ll come home after three months and be perfectly happy with that.

Who knows?

There’s another reason I keep saying we’re moving…

India feels like home to me.

I’ve visited 18 times. I’ve spent extended periods there of up to 2 months. I have friends who don’t say, “Come to my house for tea.” They say, “Come home.”

When I arrive at my favourite hotel in Delhi, The Imperial, they say, “Welcome home.”

And that’s genuinely how it feels.

So yes, we’re moving to India.

At this stage, it’s for three months.

But who knows what this chapter might open up for us?

And if India has been calling you too, come and visit!

I partner with travel company Indus Bound to plan beautiful, bespoke luxury travel across India, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka.

Who knows… maybe I’ll see you there 🙏

Happy Father’s Day to my dad, AKA Papa, Brian Lovell. ❤️

Feeling especially nostalgic today.

Our hearts are very much with Nepal with everything that’s happening right now. It’s a country Dad and I have such a special connection to. 🇳🇵

That connection started when I was six years old. Dad returned from a conference in Nepal with stories of this magical country and its wonderful people, and beautiful traditional outfits for my little sister and me.

I wore mine so proudly and vowed that one day I would visit.

And I did.

My first trip was at 18, and over the years I returned again and again, including trekking to Everest Base Camp in 2015, where I met my wonderful guide Gopal, who became a dear friend.

Then in 2017, Dad and I finally got to experience Nepal together.

We met in Kathmandu, flew to Lukla and set off on a five-day trek with Gopal and our Sherpa Gelu.

Dad had never done anything like it.

We trekked through the mountains, stayed with a Sherpa family, played cards, laughed until our bellies hurt and made memories I’ll treasure forever.

When we finally walked back through the gates at Lukla, Dad fell into my arms with tears flowing and said, “Thank you. Thank you.”

A full-circle moment from that little girl wearing her Nepalese outfit and dreaming of going there one day.

Last year, Gopal came to Australia and we reunited by the beach in Coogee. I got to introduce him to my son and meet his daughter.

And I know that one day, when the time is right, we’ll all return to our beautiful Nepal again. For me & my little family sooner.

Thank you, Dad, for the stories, the friendships, the invitations to travel and a lifetime of adventure.

There’s still more to come. ❤️🇳🇵

One of my favourite things about conferences? The people you meet. 💛

I had the pleasure of meeting Kellyanne Rosalion from Growing Communicators at , hosted by TASH CORBIN | Marketing & Strategy Mentor.

Kellyanne supports families raising deaf children, helping them build their Auslan skills, navigate communication choices and feel more confident and supported along the way.

And she is so beautifully placed to do this work because she brings her own lived experience to it. Kellyanne is deaf herself and is also raising two deaf children.

I love seeing people take their own experiences, knowledge and skills and turn them into something that can make the path a little easier for others.

It was so lovely meeting you, Kellyanne, and hearing more about the important work you’re doing.

Please follow along and connect with Kellyanne Rosalion here.

Another reminder that sometimes our lived experience becomes one of the greatest gifts we can offer others.

What happens when you give a big idea the space to be spoken out loud?

In this episode of The Emma Lovell Show, I’m joined by my brilliant client, friend and colleague Annie Reid, an author, design journalist, copywriter and founder of Atrium Media and House Music.

Annie has written and collaborated on 12 published books, with a career spanning architecture, interiors, property, sustainability and business.

We talk about her creative career, the evolution of Atrium Media, and how conversations on our retreat in India helped Annie find the confidence to bring an ambitious idea she’d been carrying to life.

That idea is House Music, an immersive sound and design experience planned for Melbourne in July 2027, where multidisciplinary artists will transform the rooms of the historic Labassa Mansion through sound, objects and visual elements.

Annie shares the vision for House Music, where the idea came from, where it could go next, and what happened when she finally started saying it out loud.

A beautiful conversation about creativity, courage and asking yourself:
What if it works?

For my birthday, I shared 39 things I’m celebrating at 39.

Did you catch our recent episode? 🎧

Some are big milestones. Publishing A Life of Magic, buying Retreat Me Happy, reaching 80 countries and preparing to move our family to India.

Others are quieter. Holding boundaries. Letting go. Returning to morning walks. Becoming more comfortable with who I am.

Because we don’t celebrate ourselves enough.

So this episode is your reminder to look back and give yourself credit.

You’ve done more than you think. Celebrate it.
