Last trip away for 2024, spending the week in Wollongong. What a great area to come and work! Each day, I pass this lookout on the journey back to my accommodation, couldn't resist to get a photo.

It's been a busy week already assisting a client in reviewing laboratory and sampling processes from site to port, seeking opportunities for improvements.

What a great day to be at work! Coming up to two years now as an independent consultant and I’m loving the opportunities that have been given to work with many new clients. Something a little different this week, work has taken me to Port Pirie in South Australia. Helping out a client oversee their sampling activities, looking at ways to improve quality and processes to their operations

The year 2023 has been a big and busy year for Coalfield Consulting. The journey started close to twelve months ago providing a specialised service focusing on enhancing quality in sampling, analysis, laboratory procedures and quality management.

It has also been a year in which we have been fortunate enough to be able to partner with local community organisations and give back to sporting clubs and school communities.

One of many proud sponsors for the lads representing Walkerston Cricket Club at the Over 40’s competition in Bundaberg. After a shaky start losing all three games on Saturday they bounced back on Sunday to win all three and finish third out of the seven teams there. Well done lads!

Bundy Over 40’s - Game 1 vs Bundy Old Boys

Not the easiest first up task, playing the defending champs, fully hydrated from the night before.
Bowling first they put on 233 off 14 overs (that’s with Russ not having to bowl), a sizeable total with Chris Vella the pick of the bowlers with 1-19 off 2 overs.
With the bat we had both Russell (38*) and Damien (36*) retire not out in quick time. Chris Vella also chipping in nicely with 22*.
Scrubby well short but now walking in a straight line.
