The exposure of these behaviours recently highlights how difficult it can be for those impacted by them to get support or even to have the courage to seek help.

It’s just a conversation.

Nick and I as Minds Aligned are probably known best for our work in facilitation, strategic planning, leadership development and team alignment, around the Mackay region and beyond.

Did you know that we also work with many individuals in 1:1 coaching sessions?

We continually study, exploring through coaching, such topics as foundations of neuroscience, psychological theory and psychological safety, leadership, and mental health. Last year I focused on completing a Diploma in Counselling and this year Youth Mental Health First Aid.

What is coaching and how can it help you?

What we have been told by our individual clients is that being able to talk about what is troubling them, or navigating through change, or just needing to make some sense of life in general and shift perspective has helped them.

Most frequently just being able to talk freely in a welcoming, safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space, and with a choice of a male or female coach is what makes the difference.

We work with people of all ages, stages, and backgrounds and across any area that presents for the client in both work and life.

Our approach is always to engage with the person with care and compassion and where they are in life, not one-size-fits-all.

Importantly, coaching and Counselling are not about telling you what to do but working with you to find the best way to move forward.

Both are valuable for anyone who needs to talk even if you don’t know where to start or what to work on. We can help you uncover that.

It really is just a conversation.

For anyone in the Bowen area or surrounds ...

I am a Coach/Counsellor based in Mackay and will be in Bowen on 7th and 8th August to find out from the local community what gaps there may be with similar services and support for the area that my skills may be able to fill.

My intention is to chat with anyone who may be interested and/or in need of support to have an introductory chat about what I do and how I do it with a view to traveling monthly offering one off or ongoing coaching/counselling sessions with me.

These would be individual 1:1 (or couples), face to face, in a central Bowen location.

I also offer group discussion sessions (public or private) on various topics as well as public SafeTALK groups (su***de alertness skills for ages 15 up, minimum 10 participants).

It this is of interest to you, someone you know, or a local organisation. please message me. No obligation.

Many thanks
Rowena

I have found that many people value the intellect of the brain over the truth of the body and while the brain is powerful it's far more powerful when it interacts with the body as it's supposed to rather than thinking it's in charge. 😃

The body cannot lie and its wisdom talks to us quietly if we're ready to listen but many of us seem to be battling against our body as though it's the enemy for a variety of reasons. We don't like the way it looks, the way it feels, or we may blame it for apparently letting us down by getting ill or holding us back in some way.

Isn't it time for us to make friends with our body, acknowledge just how amazing the human body is and what it can tolerate (to a point), and start appreciating it as it is? Yes, there are improvements to be made but were do we start?

If you're ready to re-connect to your body, you may like to consider this program by Jean Gamble who is a psychotherapist, supervisor, relationship/family counsellor, and frequent presenter on wellbeing and relationships.

It's a nine-week online program including a one-hour weekly check in and 20 minutes per day for $395.00 start 5th May to 30th June.

You'll find full details on the website and please go ahead share if you'd like to.

Re-connecting with your body and felt sense of self can support with feelings of overwhelm, depression, anxiety, imposter syndrome, meaninglessness and loss of identity. It can support you to get back in touch with the truth of who you are and your purpose in life.

If you are female, working in the Bowen Basin, and seeking to develop your leadership skills then you may like to consider this partly funded 12-month Women in Leadership program to be run in Moranbah.

Full details are available via the link ...
