🏏 3RD GRADE | ROUND 1 WRAP

Pinnacle Major Sponsors

Elders Insurance Mackay and Pioneer Valley & Isaac
BMS Strata Systems Pty Ltd
Data Right - Smart Water Meter Installations

Not quite the result for Pinnacle ABC Heavy Engineering 3rd Grade team in their season opener at Great Barrier Reef Arena, going down to Airlie Beach by 34 runs, but plenty of positives to take from the first hit-out of 2026/27.

After losing the toss, Pinnacle were sent into the field and Airlie Beach put together 7/211 from their 35 overs. The wickets were shared around, with Shaun Fisher taking 2/34 and Josin Kochupurackal Jose picking up 2/11 from his three overs.

Chasing 212, Pinnacle had a few starts but couldn’t quite put together the partnership needed to get over the line, finishing on 177 from 33.2 overs. Richard Skinner led the way with 32, while Will Fisher made a very handy 32 in his first ever 3rd Grade game.

A pretty special day for the Fisher family as well, with Will playing his first senior game alongside his dad Shaun. Shaun grabbed two wickets and Will chipped in with 32, so there might be a bit of competition around the dinner table over who had the better day! 😂🏏

👏 Men of the Match: Richard Skinner & Will Fisher

Round 1 done and dusted. A few things to tidy up, plenty to build on, and most importantly the boys are back out there enjoying their cricket. On to Round 2! 💚🏏

A big thanks to our 3rd Grade team sponsor ABC Heavy Engineering for their support of Pinnacle Cricket Club this season.

It’s great to be able to support our local teams. We started local and support locally.

🏏💚💛 MAJOR SPONSOR APPRECIATION | BMS STRATA SYSTEMS 💛💚🏏

Pinnacle Cricket Club is very pleased to have BMS Strata Systems Pty Ltd back on board for their second year as a Major Sponsor of the club.

A big thank you to Richard, Gavin and the entire BMS team for continuing to support Pinnacle. The past few seasons have been some of the most successful in our club’s history, across both our senior and junior teams, and the support we receive from businesses like BMS plays a big part in allowing a little community club like ours to keep growing.

Based locally in Mackay, BMS Strata Systems provides specialist ground engineering and underground mining support, working extensively with the resources sector. Their capabilities include ground stabilisation and consolidation, underground ventilation infrastructure, strata and ground control, shotcrete and grouting, water control, remediation and specialist project support.

They also maintain a Mackay office and warehouse in Ooralea supporting operations throughout the region.
It is great to have a business working within an industry so important to Mackay and the Bowen Basin also choosing to put its support behind local grassroots sport.

💚💛 Thank you Richard, Gavin and the BMS Strata Systems team for backing Pinnacle again in 2026/27. We are proud to have you as part of the Pinnacle family! 🏏

Please support the businesses that support our club.

The BMA CQ Rescue service is the most important medical service provider in our region, for our miners, travellers, fishermen, sick and injured- everyone.
We have supported them through thick and thin.
Never want to need them - always want to know they are available.

The best day in the valley - (and they are all really good. But I’m a bit biased)
Get along if you can - every dad loves cars ( and some mums) - and those whom identify as dads even.
So basically everyone- get along if you can.
