If you’re a small business in the Upper Spencer Gulf, this is a great opportunity to get in front of industry.

Tactic’s new Local Launchpad, supported by the Local Buying Foundation, gives local businesses a low cost entry to exhibit at a major conference and connect directly with project proponents and decision makers.

It’s a practical way to build relationships, showcase your capability and better understand how to engage with major projects and supply chains.

Places are limited, with Expressions of Interest closing 12 June.

Introducing the Local Launchpad at the 2026 Tactic Conference and Trade Expo !

Proudly supported by the Local Buying Foundation, the Local Launchpad is a new initiative designed to showcase small and local businesses.

This dedicated line of exhibitor booths brings together a group of local suppliers, making it easier than ever for industry and major project proponents to discover, connect and start meaningful conversations with businesses from the Upper Spencer Gulf and surrounding regions.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗽𝗮𝗱?
It’s your opportunity to:
> Build relationships with key industry players
> Gain valuable exposure
> Showcase your capability
> Better understand how to engage with major projects

𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
> 2m x 2m space in an open format (within the Launchpad zone)
> 1 delegate ticket
> 1 bar table + 2 bar stools

𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁:
> $1,500 (non-members)
> $1,000 (members)

𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆:
> Business must be owned and operated in the Upper Spencer Gulf or surrounding regions
> Small business (1–4 FTE)
> Must not have exhibited at the Expo before

This is about creating access for local businesses to step in, be seen, and be part of what comes next, and for major projects to easily discover the strength of regional supply.

To express your interest, email Lucy at [email protected] to discuss your eligibility. (Approved applicants will receive a registration link.)

Places are strictly limited! Expressions of Interest must be received by email by no later than 12 June.

A moment to say thank you for an extraordinary contibution to C-Res

After 14 years of service, Darryl Camilleri will retire from the C‑Res Board this week.

Darryl has been part of C-Res since the very beginning back in 2012. As a founding director and later Chair, he has supported the organisation from its early days through to national delivery of the BHP Local Buying Program and Local Buying Foundation.

Over that time, Darryl has played an important role in guiding C‑Res through growth, change and major milestones. His commitment and steady leadership have helped shape the direction of the organisation while staying focused on its purpose. Darryl has been especially proud of the impact the BHP Local Buying Program and Local Buying Foundation have had in supporting the sustainability and growth of the regional communities we work in.

We sincerely thank Darryl for his remarkable contribution over many years and wish him all the very best for what’s ahead. It's been a privilege to have him as part of the C-Res story, and his legacy will continue through the work C-Res does to support regional communities across Australia.

We’re really pleased to welcome Craig Doyle to the C-Res Board.

Craig brings a wealth of experience as a senior executive and company director, with a career spanning consumer goods, agriculture, sugar, logistics, ports and local government.

Craig is currently the outgoing Chief Executive Officer of the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility and has previously led organisations including Mackay Regional Council, the Gladstone Ports Corporation and the Coal Network Capacity Company.

Now based in Mackay, Craig brings strong regional ties and a practical understanding of the role small, local businesses play in building resilient supply chains. The opportunity to join the C-Res Board reflects a long‑standing connection with the organisation and a shared commitment to supporting suppliers through the BHP Local Buying Program and Local Buying Foundation.

✨ WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP | Building confidence ✨

Across our regions, women are building skills, confidence and strong business networks, supported by Local Buying Foundation funded initiatives.

From the Bowen Basin Women in Leadership program delivered by Regional Development Australia Greater Whitsundays, to Women in Business luncheons and International Women’s Day events, these initiatives create space for women to connect, learn and step into leadership with confidence.

Programs like First Nations X Horizon and events such as the Women of the Pilbara Forum play a vital role in amplifying women’s voices, celebrating lived experience and strengthening pathways for women in business, industry and community leadership.

These initiatives matter because they invest early, build capability and create networks that last well beyond a single event. By backing women where they live and work, we help grow stronger businesses, more inclusive leadership and resilient regional communities.

Thank you to the organisations delivering these programs and the women who continue to show up, support one another and lead with purpose.

✨ WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP | Bree ✨

Emerging leaders grow by stepping up and putting themselves out there.

As an emerging leader for C-Res, Bree Ashton is building confidence, capability and clarity this year through the Local Buying Foundation funded Women in Leadership program, delivered by Regional Development Australia Greater Whitsundays.

By leaning into learning and backing herself, Bree is developing the skills and mindset to lead with purpose, empathy and impact. This program is supporting her growth and strengthening leadership pathways for women across our regions, and we can't wait to see what is next for her.

✨ WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP | Cody ✨

Leadership does not always look polished. Sometimes it looks fiercely loyal with a sprinkle of sharp humour.

Cody has grown into her role by backing herself, trusting her instincts and standing firm in what she believes is right. Her drive is matched by a strong moral compass.

She is deeply loyal to her team. She is a protector, speaks up when it matters and is never afraid to go into bat for others. That loyalty, paired with high expectations and genuine care, is what makes her leadership so authentic.

Bold, values led and unapologetically herself, Cody shows that leadership can be strong and human at the same time.
Her story is a reminder that the best leaders step up. They are real, and willing to grow for the people they lead.
