When we think of manufacturing in Australia, we tend to think big, like the building of cars.

But the reality is many industries are manufacturing goods and products at a grass roots level.
Here in our region the Mining and METS industry are producing micro manufacturing of products and solutions , along with biofutures at the Cogeneration Plant at Racecourse.

The Federal Government are working on a National Manufacturing Priorities roadmap and want to hear from you and what you think are the key strengths of our region and the opportunities and solutions.

Bowen space hub

🚀 Bowen has been named as the State Government's preferred site for a space facility

🚀 An $8 million technical and feasibility study of the site has been commissioned

Kevin Mcquillan is a farmer from far North Queensland who wanted to create something that would make life easier when camping in addition to being the perfect at home entertainer, and so the was born. Through the ASBAS Digital Solutions program, Kevin was able to make his dream a reality.⠀

With help from advisor Clinton Begg, founder of CB5 Management, Kevin was able to create a website for Saviour BBQ (saviourbbq.com.au), as well as a Facebook and Instagram page to promote his business to existing and potential customers.⠀

Clinton’s wide range of knowledge, skills and experience helped improve Kevin’s digital capabilities, additionally he received a government grant to assist him with starting his business and said he had Clinton to thank for helping him with the process.⠀

A biofuel is a fuel that is produced through contemporary processes from biomass, rather than a fuel produced by the very slow geological processes involved in the formation of fossil fuels, such as oil. Since biomass technically can be used as a fuel directly (e.g. wood logs), some people use the terms biomass and biofuel interchangeably.

More often than not, however, the word biomass simply denotes the biological raw material the fuel is made of, or some form of thermally/chemically altered solid end product, like torrefied pellets or briquettes. The word biofuel is usually reserved for liquid or gaseous fuels, used for transportation.

We can do better as a region in the biofuel space. We need results not talk.
